NEW YORK, Oct 12 (SW) - Frenchman Youri Djorkaeff has announced to be playing the last match of his professional career, for New York/New Jersey Metrostars this coming weekend.

Djorkaeff turned professional 22 years ago and has since played for Grenobles, Strasbourg, Monaco, PSG, Internazionale, Kaiserslautern and Bolton Wanderers before joining the New York-based team.

The player made no less than 82 appearances for the French national team and helped to win the World Cup in 1998 and the European Championships two years later.

"I dreamt of playing football, of winning the World Cup and of simply being a good player. I think I have reached all that," said the 38-year-old at a press conference.
