Norwich sack coach

NORWICH, Oct 2 (Sw) - Norwich City have sacked coach Nigel Worthington following the Championship 4-1 defeat at Burnley on Sunday.

The Canaries only managed one draw and four defeats in the last five games.

Worthington had been coach from December 2000, and managed to get them promoted to the Premiership in 2004. They bounced straight back to the Championship after one season.

Coach Martin Hunter has been appointed as caretaker.
