KILMARNOCK, Oct 29 (Sw) - With their rivals losing points this round, Celtic did what they had to do against Kilmarnock to complete a lucrative weekend.

With both Rangers and Hearts drawing their respective home matches against Motherwell and Dunfermline, Celtic could further reinforce their top position by beating Kilmarnock on Sunday.

That did not prove to be an easy task however. After a goalless first half, Kilmarnock took the lead shortly after the break when Colin Nish scored for the home side on 48 minutes.

Celtic got one back six minutes later. Garry Hay fouled Shaun Maloney, and the resulting free kick was placed into the net by Shunsuke Nakamura.

Celtic did not play to their full potential, and a draw would be a just result. However, in the 75th minute substitute Kenny Miller made it a great weekend for Celtic when he converted a Shaun Maloney cross.

Celtic hung on, using all available means while being the better team. Artur Boruc even got booked for time wasting. While the football wasn't great, the overall result could not have been better for Strachan's lads. It is so early in the season, yet Celtic are already strolling to another title.
