GENOA, Nov 29 (Sw) - Genoa striker Guiseppe Sculli has been banned for eigth months for a tapped 2002 conversation where he discussed match fixing. 25-year-old Sculli played for Crotone at the time.
While the Italian football tribunal did not find evidence of pay-offs, it decided to send out a message and punish Sculli for 'unsportsmanlike behaviour'.
Sculli's punishment is much firmer than related cases of individual players, who up until now came off with a fine and a two-month ban.
