WARSAW, Nov 16 (SW) - Poland defender Jacek Bak said on Thursday that he was offered a bribe prior to yesterday's Euro 2008 qualifying win over Belgium.

The veteran full-back said he received a strange phone call before the match began in Brussels offering him €10,000 if he conceded a penalty, helping Belgium win the match.

Bak told teammate Maciej Zurawski about the phone call, but the Celtic striker quickly tried to play down the incident, but the Belgian FA has asked that UEFA investigate the incident.

Despite the alleged bribe offer, Bak did not accept and Poland won the match 1-0, sending them to third spot in their qualiying group.
