BELFAST, May 3 (SW) - Glentoran Ladies kicked of their first home game of the season with a 3-0 win, but this game was never easy. Cliftonville had most the pressure in the first half, and only for some good goalkeeping from stand in keeper Maggie Tolan, kept the score at 0-0 at half time.
Cliftonville where playing with a strong wind at their backs, but for all their pressure and possession they couldn't covert it into goals. In the second half Glentoran came out with all guns blazing, pinned Cliftonville into their own half. 5 mins after the break, a through ball from Kelly Baillie on the left, broke for Ashley Murray just inside the box, Murray controlled it, and a placed shot into the corner passed the uncoming keeper. After the restart Glentoran went straight back into attack, and on the 60th minute, Murray got her second. She controlled the ball at the corner of the box and placed a lovely dipping shot over the keeper. The game was all but over now, and Glentoran finished the game off in the 75 minute with a goal from Lynsey Patterson. After a scramble in the box it fell for Patterson on the 6 yard line and she slotted
it home past a ruck of players. In the end a well deserved win for Glentoran Belfast United.
