BUCHAREST, Mar 20 (SW) - After playing a vital role in getting Steaua into the UEFA Cup quarter-finals, striker Victoras Iacob will miss his side's much-anticipated showdown with rivals Rapid after being ruled out for a month with a shoulder injury.
Iacob suffered the fractured shoulder in a goalless draw with National Bucuresti in a Romanian top-flight game over the weekend and will miss several league games as well as both legs of the quarter-final, and potentially part of the UEFA Cup semi-finals should Steaua qualify.
It is still unsure at this point if surgery will be required to completely heal the injury, but if Iacob does undergo a procedure it could rule him out beyond the one month.
Iacob has scored five goals in ten UEFA Cup games so far this season.
