BRASILIA, Jul 17 (SW) - Brazilian and Bayer Leverkusen defender Juan has come out in support of his Brazilian national coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira in the aftermath of the recent World Cup in Germany.

Brazil had been expected to have gone ‘all the way’ in defence of their 2002 success in Japan. Instead they were bundled out of the competition in the quarter finals by France.

The Brazilian defender went on to admit on Globo TV that the entire Brazilian team felt guilty for their dismal showing at the world’s footballing showpiece. He added that while certain players and the coach may have become the scapegoats, all the players feel the same guilt at having let their country down badly.

The Brazilian media have gone out of their way to have a full go at the Brazilian team, especially coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, captain Cafu, veteran defender Roberto Carlo and world superstar Ronaldinho.
