BORDEAUX, Jan 21 (SW) - Bordeaux pulled to within 11 points of idle leaders Lyon after their victory over Strasbourg on Saturday.
Bordeaux - Strasbourg 2-1
It was Strasbourg who got on the board first, Ulrich Le Pen converting a penalty in the ninth minute to give his side a surprise lead.
Bordeaux then pulled themselves level with a goal by Fernando in the 36th minute before Strasbourg were reduced to ten men with the 41st-minute dismissal of Ahmed Abou Moslem Farag.
Bordeaux didn't make the extra man count until the dying moments of the game when Julien Faubert put into the Strasbourg net to snatch full points from the match.
Toulouse - Lille 0-0
Lille had a chance to jump into third over idle Auxerre on Saturday, but they were held to a goalless draw away to Toulouse.
Nice - Paris Saint-Germain 1-0
PSG suffered setback in their quest to get into the top three as they were beaten away to occasional giant-killers Nice.
It was a scoreless match until the 87th minute when Sammy Traoré found the back of the PSG net to claim three big points.
Ajaccio - Marseille 3-1
Ajaccio leapt off the foot of the table with an impressive win over sixth-placed Marseille.
Waldir Lucas Pereira put the home side in front in the 12th minute, but Mickaël Pagis pulled Marseille level with his second goal in as many games for his new club.
The second half, however, belonged to Ajaccio and Pereira got his second of the game in the 55th minute to restore the lead for the home side before Moussa N'Diaye sealed the victory with a third goal two minutes from time.
Sochaux - Saint-Etienne 4-0
Just before half-time, Alaeddine Yahia was sent off for the visitors, and the resulting penalty was converted by Jeremy Menez to give Sochaux a lead at the break.
Araujo Ilan doubled the lead seven minutes after the restart and then Moumouni Dagano converted a spot kick of his own on the hour mark to make it 3-0 to Sochaux. Dagano got his second of the match late on to put the period on a rout.
Troyes - Le Mans 1-3
Japanese international Daisuke Matsui put Le Mans in front with a goal on the half-hour and doubled the lead for the visitors just four minutes later.
After Benjamin Nivet pulled goal back near the hour mark for Troyes, Cédric Fauré got the insurance goal for Le Mans ten minutes from the end.
Rennes - Nancy 0-2
Nancy dealt Rennes a tough home loss in what has been a rather disappointing season, despite finishing the match with just ten men.
Jonathan Brison put Nancy in the lead in the 56th minute before he was sent off on 70 minutes. Rennes couldn't take advantage, however, and Emmanuel Duchemin added a second late on for the visitors.
Metz - Nantes 1-4
Metz now sit at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table after they were demolished at home by Nantes.
Loic Guillon put Nantes in front in the 23rd minute, only for Grégory Proment to pull the home side level six minutes later.
Mamadou Diallo put the visiting side back in front three minutes before half-time and then made it 3-1 with his second of the game on the hour mark. Dimitri Payet added a fourth for Nantes in the dying moments.
