Netherlands: PSV and Feyenoord win while NEC hold Ajax

ROTTERDAM, Jan 15 (SW) - PSV and Feyenoord both had small away wins on Sunday while Ajax were held to a draw by NEC Nijmegen.

Friday:

Groningen - Heerenveen 2-0

The 'Derby of the North' was Groningen's first league game at the new Euroborg stadium. Erik Nevland put the hosts ahead after 24 minutes and Danny Buijs confirmed his side's dominance, scoring a second goal in the 53rd minute.

Saturday:

Heracles Almelo - AZ Alkmaar 0-2

AZ Alkmaar visited Heracles in Almelo and opened the score through Danny Landzaat after only six minutes. Danish midfielder Kenneth Perez added a second in the 73rd minute.

RKC Waalwijk - RBC Roosendaal 1-1

Benjamin de Ceulaer scored the opening goal after only four mintes, but Bjorn Daelemans levelled for RBC in the 76th minute.

NAC Breda - Roda JC 0-4

Roda JC had an easy win over NAC with goals from Ivan Vicelich in the 7th minute, Gregoor van Dijk in the 61st, Andreas Oper in the 76th and Sekou Cisse in stoppage time.

Sunday:

Sparta - PSV Eindhoven 0-1

PSV did not show a convincing performance at Sparta. Michael Lamey was red-carded just before the half time whistle, but the reigning champions were helped as Nebosja Gudelj scored an own goal in the 75th minute.

Vitesse - Feyenoord 0-1

Feyenoord travelled to Arnhem where they faced Vitesse and left with three points thanks to a goal from Andre Bahia in the 28th minute.

ADO Den Haag - Utrecht 2-3

FC Utrecht took a secure lead with goals from Dave van den Bergh in the 22nd minute, Robin Nelisse in the 28th and Dwight Tiendalli in the 51st.

The visitors only just held on to their lead however, as Den Haag came back through Michael Mols in the 59th minute and Geert de Ouden (penalty) in the 90th.

Ajax - NEC Nijmegen 1-1

Only six minutes were needed to NEC to silence the crowd in Amsterdam, scoring the opening goal through Rob Wielaert. But the hosts levelled through Marcus Rosenberg after another six minutes.

Willem II - FC Twente 1-1

Anouar Hadouir put Willem II ahead in the 8th minute, but Blaise N'Kufo levelled the score in the 57th.
