ROESELARE, Feb 26 (SW) - With Club Brugge and Standard Liège playing to a draw on Sunday, Anderlecht were able to take a two-point lead in the Jupiler League table.
Roeselare - Anderlecht 0-2
Roeselare were determined to hang on for a draw on Friday, but the visitors finally broke through with six minutes to play as Christian Wilhelmsson found the back of the net.
Nicolas Frutos continued his fine form with a goal three mintues later to secure the points for Anderlecht.
Excelsior Mouscron - Zulte-Waregem 0-1
Zulte-Waregem are still within reachable distance of the top three clubs in fourth place after they secured a narrow road win at Mouscron on Saturday.
After 70 minutes of futile resistance by the home side, Zulte finally broke through with Tim Matthys scoring the match winner.
Racing Genk - La Louvière 1-0
A narrow defeat at the hands of Genk left La Louvière at the bottom of the league table, level on points with Beveren.
Fifth-place Genk needed a late winner with five minutes to play from Bob Peeters to secure thew victory on their home soil.
Lierse - Westerlo 2-1
Lierse, with sights set on league survival, got a big win in their quest to stay up on Saturday over Westerlo.
Although Tom van Inschoot put Westerlo in front just four minutes in, Adolph Tohoua leveled for the home side in the 37th minute, setting the stage for Goran Mujanovic to hit the winner in the 67th.
Sint-Truiden - Charleroi 1-1
Charleroi found themselves in the lead away from home after François Sterchele put in the back of the net on 53 minutes.
Sint-Truiden, though, fought back for a crucial point in their fight against relegation as Tamas Hajnal converted a spot kick with ten minutes to play.
Beveren - Lokeren 1-3
Aristide Bance was the man of the day, scoring a hat-trick, including the match opener in the 21st minute.
Goals then came rapidly as Alexandre Tokpa fired in an equalizer for Beveren, only to have Bance get his second with 23 minutes showing on the clock.
Things then settled down a bit and Bance completed his treble in the 55th minute to secure victory for Lokeren.
Germinal - Cercle Brugge 0-0
A sagging encounter between two mid-table sides produced no action and no goals on Saturday.
The point leaves both teams next to each other in the table with Germinal 12th and Cercle 13th.
Club Brugge - Standard Liège 1-1
Ivan Leko put Brugge in front in the 31st minute, much to the delight of the home supporters, but USA international defender Oguchi Onyewu struck back two minutes before the interval for Standard.
The result leaves both teams level on points in second place behind Anderlecht.
FC Brussels - Gent 0-1
Gent needed just an early goal to see off FC Brussels in the weekend's final Jupiler League encounter.
Wouter Vrancken found the back of the net for the visitors on the quarter-hour mark and that was all they would need to secure victory.
