LYON, Feb 17 (SW) - Lyon defeated Nantes on Friday to maintain their comfortable lead in the French Ligue 1.
Juninho opened the score for the reigning champions in the ninth minute, and Mahamadou Diarra added a second in the 35th.
When Fred scored Lyon's third in the 57th minute, the match was practically decided. Mamadou Diallo did get one back for Nantes in the 74th minute, to set the final score to 3-1.
Lyon now have 59 points from 26 matches, ten points more than second-placed Bordeaux.
