Netherlands: PSV and Feyenoord win away games

UTRECHT, Feb 8 (SW) - PSV Eindhoven defeated FC Utrecht to maintain their Eredivisie lead, while Feyenoord scored two late goals to beat NEC Nijmegen.

Tuesday:

RBC Roosendaal - AZ Alkmaar 0-5

AZ Alkmaar had an easy win at RBC on Tuesday. The experienced Barry van Galen opened the score after 12 minutes and a second was added by Martijn Meerdink in the 37th.

Georgian striker Shota Arveladze got a hattrick in the second half, with goals in the 56th, 65th and 83rd minutes.

Sparta - FC Groningen 1-0

FC Groningen suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sparta in Rotterdam. The decisive goal was scored by Davy de Fauw in the 84th minute.

Wednesday:

FC Utrecht - PSV Eindhoven 1-2

Peruvian striker Jefferson Farfán opened the score after 21 minutes, but Utrecht levelled through former PSV and AZ player Adil Ramzi in the 49th minute. PSV got a second goal however, through Farfán in the 78th minute.

NEC Nijmegen - Feyenoord 1-2

NEC appeared to be heading for a win over Feyenoord, with a goal from Romano Denneboom in the 57th minute. But an own goal from Peter Wisgerhof levelled the goal in the 83rd minute and striker Dirk Kuijt decided the match seven minutes later.

Heracles Almelo - SC Heerenveen 1-1

SC Heerenveen needed 45 minutes to open the score through Lasse Nilsson, but Tanghe equalized for the home side in the 78th minute.

Ajax - Willem II 1-0

Ajax avoided dropping points in their home match with Willem II. One goal, from Marcus Rosenberg in the 55th minute, was enough to secure the victory.

Vitesse - FC Twente 1-2

Youssouf Hersi put Vitesse in the lead after only five minutes, and the hosts did not concede any goals until the 92nd, when Patrick Gerritsen levelled for Twente. And things got even worse for Vitesse, as a winning goal was added by Twente's Sharbel Touma in the 94th minute.

Roda JC - RKC Waalwijk 1-0

The only goal at the match between Roda and RKC was scored by Cristiano in the 59th minute. Sekou Cisse was sent off for the hosts in the 37th minute, and Ramon van Haaren followed for RKC, two minutes later.

ADO Den Haag - NAC Breda 0-3

Ten minutes had been played when Anouar Diba opened the score for NAC, and Sander van Gessel added a second in the 52nd minute. A third and final goal came from Leonardo in the 83rd.
