MONACO, Feb 7 (SW) - Nice's hopes of playing European football remained alive on Tuesday as a late goal by Ederson lifted them to a 1-0 win away to rivals Monaco, booking them a place in the final of the French League Cup.
The goal was scored in the 89th minute as the Brazilian substitute got in to head home a cross by Sébastien Roudet and send the south coast side through to their first-ever League Cup final.
Nice will now play the winer of Wednesday's semi-final between Nancy and Le Mans in the final on 22 April and the winner of that final will earn a berth in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup.
