BRUGES, Feb 5 (SW) - Club Brugge and Anderlecht became the top two in the Jupiler League over the weekend while previously second-placed Standard had their match postponed.
Club Brugge - Lierse 3-1
Club Brugge remained at the top of the table after cruising past bottom side Lierse on Friday.
Ivan Leko opened the scoring for the home side 20 minutes in, and Philippe Clement hit a double late on before he gifted Lierse a consolation own goal in injury time.
Anderlecht - Racing Genk 4-1
Genk's hot run came to an abrupt end as they were thrashed away to Anderlecht, who opened the scoring in the 11th minute through captain Bart Goor.
Pär Zetterberg's penalty two minutes later made it 2-0 to the home side before Kevin Vandenbergh pulled a goal back for Genk.
Nicolás Frutos restored Anderlecht's two-goal lead in the 64th minute and Goor capped off the emphatic win with his second goal of the match two minutes later.
Zulte-Waregem - Cercle Brugge 3-1
Zulte-Waregem went back to fourth in the league, just five points behind Brugge, after their win over Cercle.
Tony Sergeant put the home side in front in the 55th minute, but Dieter Deklever pulled Cercle level just four minutes later.
It would be Zulte-Waregem's day, however, as Ibrahim Salou struck in the 71st minute to retake the lead, and again at the death to secure the full points.
Westerlo - Excelsior Mouscron 0-5
Westerlo suffered their worst home result of the season as they were trounced by Mouscron.
Suad Filekovic opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd minute and Ermin Siljak and Adnan Custovic scored in quick succession early in the second half to put Mouscron up 3-0.
Siljak then struck a penalty on the hour mark to make it four before Custovic finished off the night with Mouscron's fifth goal one minutes from time.
Lokeren - Roeselare 2-2
Lokeren came from two goals behind to earn a hard-fought draw at home against a feisty Roeselare side.
The visitors went in front on 26 minutes through James Lahousse and Jamique Vandamme doubled the advantage for Roeselare nine minutes later.
Lokeren did not give up on the match and Aristide Bance pulled a goal back for them in the 58th minute before Hakim Bouchouari got the equalizer five minutes later.
Charleroi - FC Brussels 1-0
This match looked destined for a draw for 80 minutes until Laurent Ciman's goal with ten minutes to play snatched all three points for the home side and took them to ninth in the league.
Gent - Germinal 2-1
Gent had to hold on to defeat Germinal Beerschot at home after the visitors fought hard in the second half for an equalizer.
Christophe Gregoire put Gent in front in the 28th minute before Sandy Martens doubled the advantage one minute before the interval.
Igor Alexandre Lolo pulled a goal back for Germinal just before the half-time whistle blew to breathe new life into the match, but the visitors could get no closer.
Beveren - Sint-Truiden 1-1
Relegation candidates Beveren and Sint-Truiden did little to help their causes to avoid the drop as they played to a stalemate on Saturday.
Gerginho put Beveren in front just five minutes into the game, but Sint-Truiden got an equalizer from Dimitri de Conde in the 40th minute.
