LIVERPOOL, Feb 14 (SW) – Liverpool have officially confirmed today Atletico Banfield centre-back Gabriel Paletta had agreed to a four-year deal with the Anfield outfit.

The 20-year-old Argentina international, who helped his Under-20 national side clinch this year’s World Championship, will be joining Rafael Benitez' side at the end of the season, having agreed to a four-year contract with the Reds.

The young ace had been the centre of the attention for a number of South-American and European sides these last few months, but Liverpool had quickly emerged favourites to land the services of the Banfield centre-back.

The player has yet to undergo a standard medical examination at Anfield before putting pen to paper with the European champions.
