Netherlands: PSV extend lead as NAC hold Feyenoord

EINDHOVEN, Feb 12 (SW) - PSV Eindhoven extended their Eredivisie lead with a 1-0 win over Heracles while Feyenoord were held to a draw at NAC Breda.
Friday: Sparta - AZ Alkmaar 0-1 AZ Alkmaar took three points at Sparta in Rotterdam on Friday. The hosts went down to ten when Dieter van Tornhout was expulsed in the 63rd minute, and AZ finally took advantage with a goal from Danish midfielder Kenneth Perez in injury time. Saturday: PSV Eindhoven - Heracles Almelo 1-0 Defending champions and league leaders PSV had a tough match against Heracles, but eventually scored a winning goal through Peruvian Jefferson Farfán in the 72nd minute. SC Heerenveen - Vitesse 4-1 SC Heerenveen easily defeated Vitesse at the Abe Lenstra Stadium. The guests did take the lead through Junker in the 7th minute, but Ugur Yildirim levelled in the 19th. Paul Bosvelt then put the hosts in the lead in the 49th minute, and a goal from Lasse Nilsson in the 61st minute and another from Yildirim in the 76th, set the score to 4-1. RKC Waalwijk - Willem II 1-0 One goal was enough for RKC to beat Willem II in a provincial derby. The decision came from Jochem Janssen in the 85th minute. FC Twente - Roda JC 1-0 The match between FC Twente and Roda JC was decided by one goal as well. In Enschede, Ramon Zomer scored in the 6th minute and Roda failed to use the remaining time to equalize. Sunday: NAC Breda - Feyenoord 3-3 Feyenoord were on their way to a win at NAC, but eventually dropped two valuable points and lose their second position in the league. Salomon Kalou scored the opening goal for Feyenoord in the 7th minute, but Anouar Diba levelled in the 23rd. However, Feyenoord restored their lead through a second from Kalou in the 35th minute, and Romeo Castelen's goal in the 70th minute seemed to be decisive. But NAC Refused to give up and Julian Jenner gave his side new hope in the 89th minute. In injury time, Diba netted a second to set the final score to 3-3. ADO Den Haag - Ajax 1-2 Ajax had a 1-2 win over ADO, without the support of their fans who were not allowed to enter the stadium following riots on Saturday. Zdenek Grygera opened the score for the visiting side in the 30th minute, but Michael Mols equalized three minutes later. The winning goal came from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the 54th minute. RBC Roosendaal - Groningen 1-2 Erik Nevland's goal for Groningen in the 42nd minute was cancelled out by Ebou Sillah in the 53rd, but Youri Cornelisse netted Groningen's winning goal in the 78th minute. Utrecht - NEC Nijmegen 1-1 Utrecht and NEC held each other to a draw at Nieuw Galgenwaard stadium. The home side took the lead through Tom Caluwe in the 22nd minute, but NEC levelled with a goal from Rutger Worm in the 49th. |
