NEW YORK, Dec 8 (SW) - On the same day that Jürgen Klinsmann pulled his name out of consideration for the vacant USA manager position, the United States Soccer Federation appears set to name ChivasUSA manager Bob Bradley as their new head man.

Klinsmann and the USSF apparently could never come to terms on a deal, and the Americans had always conceded that salary barriers would make it hard to name a top-flight coach.

Bradley, who won the 1998 MLS Cup with Chicago, is not going to be the permanent manager, but rather will be named to the post on an interim basis for six months, with a new search to begin after that.

Given the six-month period, it is yet unknown if Bradley will be in charge of the Stars and Stripes when they compete in both the Gold Cup and Copa América next summer.

Other names considered for the position since Bruce Arena's sacking after the World Cup were ex-Argentina manager José Pekerman and Manchester United assistant Carlos Queiroz.

Bradley won the MLS Coach of the Year Award this past season for guiding ChivasUSA to a berth in the league playoffs in just their second season in the league.
