BEIJING, Dec 19 (SW) – Still agonising after their Club World Cup defeat at the hands of Brazil’s Internacional, Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard said that the European champions would bounce back.
Rijkaard admitted that his team were poorly prepared for the tournament and had been the last to arrive as a result of a congested Spanish Primera League fixture list and European commitments.
As the result of their late arrival they never had enough time to recover from jet – lag.
He added that they will learn from this tournament and this will make them tougher for defending their Spanish Primera League and UEFA Championship titles.
Rijkaard blamed himself and not the Barcelona players for the defeat.
