MUNICH, Dec 12 (SW) – Manager of Bayern Munich Uli Hoeness told The Bild Newspaper that veteran German international and Bayern Munich midfielder Mehmet Scholl is set to retire form football at the end of the current season.
The thirty six year old will make his final appearance for Bayern when they take on Barcelona in a friendly in August 2007.
He has played in the Bundesliga since 1990. He first played for Karlsruhe for which he made fifty eight appearances.
Scholl has played since then for his current club and to date has played three hundred and eighty four matches.
Throughout his career he managed ninety seven goals.
He has represented Germany on thirty six occasions.
