TURIN, Dec 5 (SW) - Former Czech international Pavel Nedved has been handed a five game ban by the Italian disciplinary commission.
The Juventus midfielder was sent off during his sides 1-1 draw with Genoa after he appeared to stamp on Francesco Bega, but the Serie B side are ready to appeal the punishment.
“Nedved, in the 47th minute of the second half, voluntarily trod on his opponent’s ankle, and after being consequently sent off by the referee, offended him and stamped on his foot, with no damaging consequences,” said a statement from the disciplinary commission.
