MOSCOW, Dec 8 (SW) – It appears as though Fernando Cavenaghi’s days at Spartak Moscow are over.
The twenty three year old Argentinean striker, purchased from River Plate in 2004 for £5.9 million, has been unable to settle down in the Russian capital.
Whilst at River Plate he netted seventy one times in one hundred and twenty one matches, but was unable to produce the same form for Spartak.
Spartak sports director Sergei Shavlo said that they hoped to offload the striker as soon as possible.
Already clubs in Spain and Italy had shown interest in the player who could only feature in seventeen matches this season of which only two saw him on the field for the full ninety minutes.
Overall he played fifty one matches, most of which were not full matches in which he managed to find the net on twelve occasions.
