ENSCHEDE, Aug 27 (SW) - Defending champions PSV Eindhoven showed a disappointing performance at FC Twente, who only needed a second-half goal to earn three points.
Fans at the Arke stadium saw how their team actually had the better chances throughout the match, as PSV failed to reach their opponents' penalty area.
The deadlock was broken after 71 minutes. In a counter-attack, it was Blaise N'Kufo to eventually put the ball past Brazilian goalkeeper Gómes for 1-0.
In the final phase, PSV did try to get an equaliser but Twente's defense was sufficiently organized, and the hosts maintained their lead.
