Martins: ‘Newcastle deal 80 per cent done’

MILAN, Aug 22 (SW) – Inter Milan’s want-away forward Obafemi Martins has declared that Newcastle United is close to securing his signature.
"Eighty per cent of the deal with Newcastle is completed,” admitted the Nigerian.
"I'm close to moving to Newcastle, despite all the initial delays.
"I have long since wished to play in the Premiership and I am pleased with the prospect of concluding the deal in the next couple of days.”
A fee of £10 million is believed to have been agreed between the two clubs.
The 21-year-old was granted permission to move away from the Nerazzurri following the summer arrivals of Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
