MANCHESTER, Aug 18 (SW) - Manchester United will not be appearing at the Amsterdam Tournament again, according to manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

United have two players, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney suspended for three matches due to their red cards conceded during the match with FC Porto, in the Dutch capital city.

To Ferguson's dismay, referee Ruud Bossen decided to report the matter, with the suspensions as result.

"We will not be playing in the Amsterdam tournament again, you can bet your life on that. In these situations it is down to the referee. You hope common sense is going to prevail," said Ferguson.

"Instead he has reported it, then it has gone through the official channels and the FA has decided to take it up."

The two players will be able to participate in the team's opener with Fulham, but are suspended for the matches with Charlton Athletic, Watford and Tottenham Hotspur.
