VILLARREAL, Aug 31 (SW) - Spanish Primera Division side Villarreal have signed Argentinian defender Fabricio Fuentes, to succeed the injured Gonzalo Rodriguez.

The 30-year-old joins the 'Yellow Submarines' from Atlas in Mexico, and Villarreal are reportedly paying three million Euros for the player.

Villarreal needed a new defender after a serious injury suffered by another Argentinian, Rodriguez, who is expected to be out for the coming seven months.

Fuentes recently received his first international call-up, for Argentina's friendly match with Brazil on September 3rd.
