BORDEAUX, Apr 30 (SW) - Bordeaux could have clinched second spot in Ligue 1 on Sunday, but a draw at home against Le Mans will force them to wait until at least Wednesday before they can celebrate. Elsewhere, Strasbourg, Ajaccio and Metz were relegated.
Bordeaux - Le Mans 2-2
Bordeaux conceded the lead to Le Mans after 19 minutes as Ismael Bangoura found the back of the net, but a penalty by Marouane Chamakh pulled things back to level in the 38th minute.
The home side then took the lead seven minutes after the restart through Jean-Claude Darcheville and looked headed for victory before Grafite equalized with 10 minutes remaining.
Bordeaux can clinch second place if Rennes, the only team that can mathematically catch them, drop points against PSG on Wednesday.
Lyon - Saint-Etienne 4-0
Lyon set a points record for the French top flight after they crushed Saint-Etienne at the Stade Gerland, eclipsing the mark they previously held.
David Hellebuyck's own goal after just nine minutes sent Lyon on their way and striker Fred made it 2-0 six minutes before half-time.
A penalty by Juninho and a late goal by Benoît Pedretti put the stamp on a big win, sending Lyon to 81 points on the year, two more than they had in each of the last two seasons.
Ajaccio - Nice 0-3
Bakary Koné scored twice as Nice cruised to a victory away to officially relegated Ajaccio on Sunday.
David Bellion actually put the visitors in front after just three minutes had been played before Koné struck in the 32nd and 76th minutes to spell the end of Ajaccio.
Metz - Sochaux 0-1
Metz, who sit at the bottom of the table, were also given the relegation tag after being beaten at home by Sochaux.
Mickaël Isabey's goal on 57 minutes was all that Sochaux needed to doom Metz to a fate that seemed certain for several weeks.
Strasbourg - Nancy 1-3
Strasbourg were the third and final team sent down on Sunday after they failed to beat League Cup winners Nancy.
Amara Diané's 16th-minute strike had given Strasbourg an early lead and hope, but Elie Kroupi struck twice within the next eight minutes for Nancy before he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark.
Troyes - Toulouse 3-1
The result that helped condemn the three teams to relegation was the one as Troyes came from down a goal early to beat Toulouse.
Laurent Batlles put Toulouse in front after just four minutes, but a second-half blitzkrieg saw Sébastien Dallet, Sébastien Grax and Ziad Jaziri find the back of the net for victorious Troyes.
Monaco - Nantes 1-1
A late goal helped Monaco earn a home draw against Nantes as Ernesto Chevantón's last-gasp strike cancelled out a 27th-minute effort by Aurelien Capoué.
