Lokhoff to take over promoted Excelsior

ROTTERDAM, Apr 10 (SW) - A week after winning promotion back to the Dutch Eredivisie, SBV Excelsior Rotterdam named ex-NAC Breda manager Ton Lokhoff as the man who will guide them next season.

Lokhoff, 46, who was sacked by NAC in December of last year, will replace departing coach Mario Been. Been will become the new manager of NEC Nijmegen at the start of July.

The former Dutch international midfielder, played 14 seasons for NAC, three for Feyenoord and two seasons for French side Nîmes. He retired from football in 1996 and was coach of NAC from October 2003 until December of 2005.

Excelsior, who have been in the Gouden Gids Divisie for three seasons, clinched promotion back to the top flight last weekend over VV Venlo.
