Scotland: Aberdeen beat Inverness for sixth place

EDINBURGH, Apr 2 (SW) - Aberdeen defeated Inverness on Saturday to move into sixth position in the Scottish Premier League.
Saturday: Inverness - Aberdeen 0-1 The match between Inverness and Aberdeen seemed to be heading for a scoreless draw as result, but the visitors eventually broke the deadlock through Steve Lovell in the 83rd minute. Aberdeen now move into sixth position, at the expense of Inverness. Motherwell - Livingston 2-1 Motherwell also surpass Inverness, thanks to a 2-1 win over Livingston. Jim Hamilton opened the score for the hosts in the 40th minute, but Noel Whelan levelled in the 76th. The winning goal however was for Motherwell, and was scored by Brian McLean in the 90th minute. Dunfermline - Falkirk 1-1 Falkirk took the lead through Jack Ross in the 21st minute but Dunfermline earned themselves a point as Mark Burchill equalized in the 50th. Sunday: Dundee United - Rangers 1-4 Thirty minutes had been played when Dado Prso put Rangers ahead in the only match played on Sunday. Kris Boyd then went on to secure the lead with goals in the 31st and 54th minutes, before Collin Samuel got one back for Dundee in the 68th. Boyd scored another however, setting the score to 1-4 in the 83rd minute. The matches of Celtic versus Hearts and Hibernian against Kilmarnock are scheduled for Wednesday. |
