Germany: Stuttgart draw with Hannover, Nurnberg win

HANNOVER, Apr 16 (SW) - Hannover 96 held VfB Stuttgart to a 3-3 draw while Nurnberg came back from behind to beat Kaiserslautern.

Less than two minutes had been played when Hannover took the lead through Hanno Balitsch, and Jiri Staijner doubled the gap in the 33rd minute.

Danijel Ljuboja got one back for Stuttgart in the 52nd minute, but Per Mertesacker netted a third for Hannover in the 67th.

VfB would eventually get a point however as goals from Thomas Hitzlsperger (77th) and Jon Dahl Tomasson (82nd) levelled the score for 3-3.

Stuttgart are now seventh, four points behind Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha BSC. There are four matchdays left in the Bundesliga.

Nurnberg - Kaiserslautern 3-2

Robert Vittek's 13th-minute goal for Nurnberg was cancelled out by Kaiserslautern's Halil Altintop in the 20th. Altintop also put the visitors ahead in the 46th, but things were then turned around by Thomas Paulus in the 63rd minute and Vittek in the 87th.

Kaiserslautern are currently 16th and risk relegation. 15th-placed VfL Wolfsburg have a three-points advantage.
