Germany: Bayern held to draw while Werder win

MUNICH, Apr 1 (SW) - The gap between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen has been brought back to ten points as the Bavarians were held to a draw by last-placed Cologne.

Bayern Munich - Cologne 2-2

Matthias Scherz put Cologne ahead in the 13th minute but Willy Sagnol levelled in the 29th. The visitors restored their lead through Albert Streit in the 36th minute, but this time it was Roy Makaay to equalize three minutes later.

Eintracht Frankfurt - Werder Bremen 0-1

The match between Eintracht and Werder was decided from the penalty spot, as the only goal was scored by Miroslav Klose, converting a spotkick in the 70th minute.

Hertha BSC - VfB Stuttgart 2-0

Hertha BSC defeated Stuttgart in the German capital, with Marcelinho scoring both goals. The first came just after the break, and a second followed from the penalty spot in the 69th minute.

Bayer Leverkusen - Kaiserslautern 5-1

Bayer Leverkusen had an easy win over relegation candidates Kaiserslautern. Barnetta opened the score for the hosts in the 9th minute and Dimitar Berbatov added a second in the 37th.

The Bulgarian also took care of Bayer's third goal in the 61st minute, and Pletsch got one back for the visiting side in the 64th.

Bayer were not threatened by that goal however as Fritz and Berbatov added another two goals in the 85th and 90th minutes.

B. M'gladbach - B. Dortmund 2-1

The two Borussia's faced each other in Mönchengladbach and the hosts took the lead through Rafael after only six minutes. Tomas Rosicky levelled for Dortmund in the 15th minute but the winning goal was for the home side, and was scored by Rafael in the 34th minute.

Nurnberg - Mainz 3-0

Nurnberg were the stronger side against Mainz 05, with an opening goal from Saenko within three minutes. Kieszling added a second in the 68th minute and the third goal came from Vittek in the 79th.

Wolfsburg - Duisburg 1-1

The home side went down to ten after a red card for Klimowicz in the 61st minute, and Van Houdt took advantage by scoring the opening goal for Duisburg in the 73rd. But the hosts held on and Steve Marlet levelled the score in added time.
