CARSON, Oct 17 (SW) - The MetroStars defeated homeside ChivasUSA, 2-0, Sunday, and advanced as the final team to qualify for the 2005 MLS Cup playoffs.

The MetroStars backed up the stellar work of Tony Meola in goal with two goals in the second half. The winner coming just four minutes in with Michael Bradley scoring on a cross from Mark Lisi.

Ironically, Bradley is the son of Bob Bradley who was fired from the head coaching post by the MetroStars just a few weeks past.

The Metros' win marked the team as the final entry in the competition for this year's MLS Cup. The team joins New England, DC United, and Chicago in the Eastern Conference playoff, while San Jose, FC Dallas, Colorado Rapids, and LA Galaxy compete in the west.

The cup final will be played in Dallas' new facility, Pizza Hut Park, in Frisco, Texas on November 13.
