GLASGOW, Oct 27 (SW) – Alex McLeish could quickly find himself on thin ice, after Rangers were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw away to bottom side Livingston, losing yet again more ground on the top two.
Livingston having failed to collect more than 3 points in 11 games ahead of last night’s home fixture against the defending champions, nothing but an away win for Alex McLeish’s side was expected by the Scottish punters.
Barry Ferguson (15’) and Chris Burke (54’) had even handed the visitors a comfortable two-goal lead in what could have been a walk in the park for the Glasgow giants. But two consecutive efforts from Robert Snodgrass (56’, and 64’) denied the Ibrox outfit, and poured more misery on manager Alex McLeish.
The defending champions are now 11 points behind league leaders Hearts (winners 1-0 against Kilmarnock), and trailing arch-rivals and current runners-up Celtic by 8 points, following the Hoops’ 5-0 thrashing of Motherwell.
Winners 1-2 away to Dunfermline, Hibs are third with 25 points, while newly-promoted Falkirk clinched a 3-0 win away to former first division rivals Inverness.
