BUCHAREST/GENOA, Nov 30 (SW) - Former European champions Steaua have moved on to the Round of 32 in the UEFA Cup after their win over Halmstad while Sampdoria and Hertha Berlin are in the driving seat to qualify after their draw in Italy in Group C.

Steaua - Halmstad 3-0

Mirel Radoi put Oleg Protassov's men into the lead in the 11th minute, finishing beautifully from just outside the area and the score remained 1-0 until Dorin Goian headed home from a corner kick in the 63rd minute.

Constantin Iacob then put the game away for good eight minutes later when he was picked out by a George Ogararu ball 20 yards from the Halmstad goal.

Sampdoria - Hertha Berlin 0-0

The game wasn't very offensive at the Luigi Ferraris stadium as both sides combined for just five shots on target, four of them belonging to Hertha.

Sampdoria can clinch their spot in the next round of the competition with a draw at Lens in two weeks' time while Hertha need a draw at home to Steaua to qualify.
