Girondins unveil double signing

BORDEAUX, July 18 (SW) – Ligue 1 outfit Girondins de Bordeaux have unveiled Colombian striker Edixon Perea and Spanish midfielder Alejandro Alonso as their latest summer signings, after the players agreed to four-year contracts with the French outfit.

Edixon Perea, a 21-year-old Colombia international striker, had been linked with a move to Bordeaux since the French club’s scouts followed the Atletico Nacional prolific striker in his side’s domestic campaign. The forward, who is nicknamed ‘pitbull’ by his fans, finished last term as second best striker of the Colombian league with 18 goals.

Perea is joined in Ricardo’s squad by 18-year-old right midfielder Alejandro Alonso, who also agreed to join Bordeaux on a four-year contract after leaving Argentinean side Atletico Huracan. The little player, who has both Argentinean and Spanish nationalities, was at the end of 7 goals for his side last season.
