BERGEN, Apr 14 (SW) - Last years champions Rosenborg defeated Brann with a narrow 1-0 win at Lerkendal Stadium. It was after all a fair result but Brann played a very nice game from time to time, especially during the first 25 minutes. Raymond Kvisvik, Brann, also had a goal disallowed in the first half, a very controversial decision by the referee, Tommy Skjerven.
Roar Strand scored the only goal 8 minutes before the end in front of 14,000 spectators full of expectations for the 13th league title in a row for RBK.
Tromso crushed Viking easily, 4-0 at a snowy Alfheim Stadium. Morten Gamst Pedersen, Lars Iver Strand, Thomas Hafstad and Karem Essediri scored the goals for the home team. Viking had to travel back home to Stavanger after an embarrassing match up north, as especially the defence was horrible. 5,500 attended at the match.
Molde had an impressive 2-0 win versus Lyn at home in front of 6,000 people. The away team is expected to be a medal candidate this year but the Molde-players Petter Rudi and Marcus Andreasson destroyed the high expectations as they scored the two goals for the home team.
The promoted team Fredrikstad lost as expected away to Lillestrom in front of 12,000 spectators at Arasen Stadium. Arild Sungdog and Espen Sogard scored the goals for the title chasers.
Another promoted team, Ham-Kam managed a 1-1 draw at Fosshaugane Stadium in Sogndal. Alex Odegaard put Sogndal ahead 8 minutes into the second half but Geir Frigaard equalized 10 minutes before the end, a fair result after all. 3,117 people watched the match.
Odd smashed Stabaek 2-0 after an early goal by Sebastian Henrikson and a second half goal by Espen Hoff in front of 7,500 spectators.
Bodo had a narrow 1-0 defeat in Oslo vs Valerenga. Jorgen Jalland scored the only goal for a somewhat surprising result but still fair. Close to 10,000 fans arrived at Ullevaal Stadium on Tuesday night.
