ROME, Apr 7 (SW) - The city of Rome has forbidden the replay of the match between Lazio Roma and AS Roma at the Olimpico stadium, which was suspended after rumours were being spread about the death of a Roma supporter.
The rumours of a supporter being run over by a police car turned out to be false, but they had already caused for the general atmosphere to go from bad to worse and Roma, lead by captain Totti, refused to play on. The situation meant a 2-match stadium ban for Roma and a fine for Lazio.
Now, the city of Rome will not allow the replay of this match, which was planned for April 14th, before the safety of the stadium is assured. After the suspension, a dangerous situation emerged as supporters of both teams had to leave the stadium prematurely.
