ROTTERDAM, July 23 (SW) - Former Feyenoord captain Paul Bosvelt will leave his current team for Premier League club Manchester City. This was announced by a spokesman of the team from Rotterdam.
Bosvelt made clear that he was not happy with the way things went at the club and the poor relationship with coach Bert van Marwijk caused the player to want to stop being the captain.
The 33-year-old player has had six seasons at Feyenoord and is not the first player to leave the team this year after Pierre van Hooijdonk left for Fenerbahçe earlier, also on bad terms, and Bonaventure Kalou moved to Auxerre in France.
Manchester City will play a friendly match in Arhus, Denmark this Friday and the opponents will be Feyenoord, which could mean a debut to remember for Bosvelt.
The Dutchman signed a contract for two years.
