There is the final whistle! Atleti pull through to secure their first three-points of the season.
90' +3
Albentosa races up from the back but Lara's attempt to get the ball into the box is closed down by Jimenez. That will be it for tonight!
90' +2
Gabi is caught in possession inside his own half by Angel and the referee awards a foul in favour of the Atleti captain. The Eibar striker is dismayed as he clearly feels he won the ball fairly, but the referee didn't see it that way.
90' +1
There will be three minutes of added time at the end of the second half!
90'
Jimenez lets fly with a fierce effort from 25 yards out but it is close to Irureta, who gets his body behind the ball and collects it at the first time of asking. Once more he instantly looks to set his team away down the other end.
88'
WHAT A MISS! Manu del Moral capitalises on a slip by Godin and threads Angel through one-on-one. He has enough time to control it and shoot but with Moya closing in he pokes his effort wide of the far post! Will they get a better chance to level the game?
86'
Time is running out for the visitors to find an equaliser, and with every passing minute the hosts are looking more and more assured of securing the result. Eibar need to do something soon!
84'
Dani Nieto attempts to dart around the outside of the backtracking Koke down near the corner flag. He knocks the ball past him, and out of play, before going to ground. The assistant referee was right next to the action but did not signal for a foul so the hosts restart play from a goal kick.
82'
Saúl Berjón enters the game and replaces Dani García.
Raul Garcia gets clattered as he leaps over Albentosa and is met by Irureta as he tries to connect with a free kick. He stays down for a little while to catch his breath and the Atleti fans will be delighted he soon gets back to his feet to continue.
80'
Dani Nieto darts inside from the right and rides a couple of challenges before passing to Manu del Moral to his left. The substitute lashes an effort at goal which takes a deflection off a Rojiblanco shirt. Moya chases out to the peripheries of his area in order to stop it going behind for a corner kick!
Minute
Description
79'
Eibar have have 57% possession tonight and also have a better passing accuracy than the champions! It has been a confident display from the newly-promoted side, and they continue to push Atleti back into their own half.
77'
From their opening two Liga games you would not have thought Eibar were a club who competed in the third flight just two seasons ago! They've given it a real go tonight and while there remains time on the clock they still have every chance of finding an equaliser.
75'
Lara's delivery is once more brilliant and Boveda evades his marker to connect with it. He is not aware of his position, though, and glances his header wide from six yards out.
74'
Gabi gets yellow.
The referee awards Eibar a free kick in the Atleti half and Gabi has some choice words the referee. It earns him a yellow card, and the visitors have another chance to throw the ball into the box.
73'
Manu del Moral enters the game and replaces Mikel Arruabarrena.
Gabi whips in another free kick from the right and again the Eibar defence just aren't good enough. Godin is able to get his head on the ball far too easily but fortunately for them he is unable to steer his effort onto the target.
71'
The keeper instantly releases Angel with a long throw out to the left but it is just a bit too forceful for the striker to get on the end of and Godin shepherds it out of play.
70'
The Rojiblancos finally relieve some of the pressure on their defence as Raul Garcia pulls out to the left and wins a corner for the hosts. Again it is easy for Irureta to claim.
68'
Simeone withdraws Mandzukic for the closing 20 minutes and Saul is his replacement. A defensive move from the Atleti coach, who clearly wants his side to close this result out.
67'
Saúl enters the game and replaces M. Mandžukić.
66'
A lovely, penetrating pass is dummied by Angel and he spins to race onto it at the byline. He squares it from an acute angle but Moya is positioned well to block it and divert it around the post for a corner.
65'
Suarez catches Dani Garcia with a late tackle on the half-way line and although contact is minimal, the Eibar man goes down holding his face. A second yellow card would see the Atleti man walk, but the referee isn't buying it and allows play to continue.
64'
Koke gets yellow.
63'
Gabi sends a cross in from the right and Jimenez leaps up to get his head on it. The ball is slightly behind him, though, so he has to crane his neck back to connect with it, meaning there is no power behind it and Irureta can save comfortably.
62'
Dani Nieto enters the game and replaces Capa.
Eibar respond with a change of their own as Dani Neito comes on for Capa in a like-for-like change. The visitors will clearly continue with their current gameplan.
60'
R. Jiménez enters the game and replaces A. Griezmann.
It is Griezmann who makes way for the Mexican. Hardly one of the Frenchman's most memorable performances as his quest for his first goal for his new club continues.
59'
Atleti appear ready to make the first substitution of the night, with Raul Jimenez stripped and waiting on the sidelines.
57'
Eibar have kept up their hard work in the second half, enjoying plenty of possession against the champions. They have not created an awful lot, but while there is still just one goal in it they will remain confident that they can score a second.
55'
After a failed short corner routine, Lara decides to send the second one straight into the danger area. Moya comes off his line but is beated to the ball by Boveda, however the right-back is unable to divert his header on target!
54'
Mario Suárez gets yellow.
53'
Dani Garcia shows good strength to get between Juanfran and the ball out on the right wing. The Atleti defender thinks he should have a free kick but the referee is unmoved and Eibar look to push forward with possession. They eventually move it towards the half-way line where Suarez fouls Arruabarrena and receives a yellow card.
51'
Koke is the man who eventually takes the free kick. His run up is short in an attempt to catch Irureta out but he is unable to get enough dip on his effort so that it hits the target and instead it sails over.
49'
Free kick to Atleti in a great position! Koke cushions the ball down for Griezmann and the Frenchman is felled with a poor challenge from behind by Dani Garcia. This offers the hosts a great oppoortunity to score from a set piece for the third time this evening!
48'
Capa pushes up on the right, beats Siqueira to the ball and draws another foul from the left-back. Lara sends the free kick towards Albentosa at the back post but he fouls Miranda in his attempts to get on the end of the ball inside the box.
46'
The second half has begun at the Vicente Calderon!
45' +2
The delivery is sent away by Eibar and the referee blows for half time.
45' +1
Koke releases Griezmann with a lovely reverse pass but his attempted shot is blocked by Dani Garcia and the ball goes behind for a corner.
45'
There will be just one minute of added time at the end of this first half.
43'
Juanfran stands a great cross up at the back post with his left foot but Albentosa leaps higher than Mandzukic and nods it behind for a corner kick. The Croatian clearly appreciates the defender's efforts and helps him back to his feet.
41'
WHAT A CHANCE! Eibar counterattack after Atleti fail to make the most of a free kick. Capa crosses the ball to Arruabarrena, who is free at the back post, but as he controls it he loses his footing and contrives to knock it out for a goal kick. A wasted opportunity to potentially draw level!
39'
STAT: In the four previous meetings between these two teams there has never been a draw. Atleti have won on three occasions and Eibar have just the one solitary victory.
37'
TOP SAVE BY IRURETA! Raul Garcia receives the ball 20 yards from goal, turns, and dinks an effort towards goal. It deflects off Navas and wrongfoots the keeper, but he is able to adjust and tip the floating effort onto the crossbar and behind for a corner!
35'
Well, the Armeros have certainly been rewarded for keeping their heads up and playing their game despite going two goals down in the first half. That was a truly fabulous goal and it brings them back withing touching distance away to the reigning champions!
33'
Abraham Minero has scored a goal for Eibar! Assist by Mikel Arruabarrena.
SENSATIONAL GOAL BY ABRAHAM! EIBAR GET ONE BACK! Wow, what a move from the visitors! Abraham passes inside to Angel and continues his run forward where Arruabarrena tees the ball up for him with a delightful touch. The left-back takes it first time and bends a splendid shot into the top corner! Lovely build-up play!
32'
GOOD SAVE!! It is Lara who takes it and he rifles the free kick low and hard to the keeper's right. Moya gets down to it and parries it aside and Albentosa is unable to react quickly enough to test the Atleti stopper with a follow-up effort!
30'
Eibar have a free kick in a very dangerous position after Capa is caught just outside the box by Koke as he looked to pull the trigger. Lara will fancy this!
29'
JUST WIDE!! Griezmann dribbles through the middle and lets fly with an effort from 20 yards out. Irureta dives down to his left but can breathe a sigh of relief as he sees the shot zip outside his post for a goal kick.
28'
The hosts are turning up the pressure now, closing down Eibar inside their own half and putting the defenders under pressure. Griezmann quickly closes in on Lara as he receives possession but the Armeros midfielder just about manages to hand onto the ball.
26'
It has been all too easy for Atleti to net those two goals. The movement on both was not particularly outstanding, but the marking was just that bad! Garitano will not be happy with his side's defending.
25'
M. Mandžukić has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Gabi.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAL!! THE ROJIBLANCOS GO TWO UP! The free kick is clipped in by Gabi and Mandzukic pulls away from Navas and nods the ball into the far corner!
24'
Gabi clips a nice ball forward as Atleti look to counterattack against the visitors. Koke nods it into Mandzukic and the Croatian is felled and wins a free kick for his team. What can they make of this?
23'
A cross from the left is headed out from Eibar but the loose ball falls to Mario Suarez 25 yards from goal. He controls it well with his first touch and then has a go at goal with his second, but he does not catch the effort sweetly enough and Navas takes the pace off the shot by flinging a foot at it.
21'
Juanfran pushes up on the right for the first time this evening and flights an outswinging cross into the box. Once more the hosts put it too close to the keeper, though, who is able to come off his line and pluck the ball out of the sky unchallenged.
20'
The Rojiblancos will be more than happy to let the Armeros keep the ball around the half-way line. You do not get many sides who are more deadly without the ball than Atleti!
18'
To their credit, Eibar have not changed their game despite going behind. They have kept their composure and are enjoying some decent spells in possession. However, they are not committing enough men forward to offer targets for the deep-lying players who are knocking the ball about in space.
16'
Godin has gone off the field momentarily as he seems to be having trouble with one of his socks. Yes, that is right, his socks. After a few moments of mucking around he is back on his feet and re-enters the pitch to fill the hole in the centre of defence left in his absence.
14'
Lara releases Angel with a delightful first-time pass but as the striker goes to fire an effort at Moya's goal he kicks it away with his standing foot! He won't get many chances tonight and cannot afford to be as wasteful again.
13'
What a blow that will be to the visitors after a decent opening 10 minutes. Dani Garcia was closest to Miranda but failed to track his movement at the set piece and now his side are behind. Simeone, meanwhile, will be pleased his side have taken an early lead after their laborious performance last weekend.
11'
Miranda has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Koke.
GOOOOOOOAAAAL!! ATLETI TAKE THE LEAD! After a positive start to proceedings from the visitors, a lapse in concentration sees them fall behind. Miranda is marked extremely poorly and he runs to the near post to nod home from Koke's corner!
9'
Boveda wins his side another free kick out on the right as he gets past Siqueira with a lovley piece of skill. Lara whips it in to the back post and Albentosa rises highest to meet it, but the second ball is headed out of the box by Raul Garcia.
7'
Siqueira ambles up from the back and play is switched across to him on the left. He angles a ball into the box but aims it far too close to Irureta, who leaps up high and and claims it comfortably.
6'
Atleti now have a free kick in an almost identical position in the other half. Griezmann is the man to deliver it but his cross is awful and fails to get past the first man.
4'
Lara flights the free kick in from wide on the right and Mandzukic clears it behind for a corner with a hashed clearance. The visitors fail to make anything from that and the Rojiblancos eventually clear the ball away from danger.
3'
Boveda looks to push forward on the right flank and knocks the ball past Suarez and attempts to rush onto it. The Atleti man forces him wide and the referee deems him to have been to forceful in his actions and awards Eibar a free kick.
2'
Some good early pressure from Atleti sees a couple of attacks repelled by the visitors. Eibar cannot get the ball out of their half, though, and eventually Griezmann manages to get a shot away but he skies it well over the roof of the goal.

We are off at Vicente Calderon!
Hello and welcome to this evening's LIVE text commentary on the meeting between Atletico Madrid and Eibar. The reigning champions could only muster a goalless draw against city rivals Rayo Vallecano on the opening weekend, so will be eager to secure their first win against the Liga new boys tonight. My name is Tom Webber, and I will be taking you through this one tonight!
Eibar had a fairytale start to their first season in Spain’s top-flight as Javi Lara’s masterful free kick sent them to a 1-0 win over Basque rivals Real Sociedad last weekend. They'll be hoping for more of the same tonight, but it has been 20 Liga games since Atleti were last defeated at the Vicente Calderon.
ATLETI TEAM NEWS: Guilherme Siqueira has been passed fit and starts at left-back this evening in place of Cristian Ansaldi but Arda Turan remains sidelined and does not feature in the squad. The only other change brings Raul Garcia into the starting line-up with Raul Jimenez displaced. Diego Simeone will not be present in the dugout after receiving an eight-game ban, four of which cover Liga matches, following his antics in the Supercopa second leg.
EIBAR TEAM NEWS: Gaizka Garitano makes no changes to the side that defeated Real Sociedad last weekend. New signing Saul Berjon takes a place on the bench, though.
The last time these two sides faced off they were both second division outfits: now the Rojiblancos are reigning Liga champions and Eibar are a top-flight side after back-to-back promotions. Atleti won both games when they met in the 2001-02 season, including a 1-0 victory at the Vicente Calderon.
The teams are out on the pitch and we will be underway momentarily!
HALF TIME - Atletico Madrid 2-1 Eibar: Diego Simeone's men stormed ahead through Miranda and Mario Mandzukic, who scored his first Liga goal for his new club. But the visitors were unperturbed and pulled one back when a lovely team move was finished off by Abraham. It means the newly-promoted side are still in with a shout ahead of the second half! This game is by no means over.
Welcome back! The teams are back out on the pitch so the second half should being shortly.
FULL TIME - Atletico Madrid 2-1 Eibar: The hosts stormed into the lead with goals from Miranda and Mandzukic but Abraham set up a tantalising second half with a delightful goal before the break. The visitors continued to control possession in the second half but the champions held on to take all three points.
It is a first defeat of the season for the Liga new boys, but they can take pride in that performance. My name is Tom Webber, and it was a pleasure to guide you through tonight's game. Until next time!
