Laurent Blanc makes just one change from the side that started the season with a 2-2 draw at Stade Reims. New £50million signing David Luiz makes his competitive debut, after signing from Chelsea in the summer, replacing Thiago Silva, who is out with a hamstring injury. Last season’s top goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts upfront and will want to continue his good form after a brace in the season opener. Maxwell, Blaise Matuidi, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Yohan Cabaye all return to the subs bench having missed the game last week.
PSG will be confident of taking all three points from this game having beaten their opponents in the last eight meetings between the two sides. Last season enjoying 3-0 and 4-0 victories. The last time Bastia beat PSG was back in 2003, with a 1-0 win, and they have never taken three points away from the capital. Makelele, who was assistant at PSG last season, will be hoping today is the day that all changes.
HALF TIME: PSG 1-0 SC BASTIA
One worry for the former France manager will be the injury to star man and today's captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His 41 goals in all competitions last season were vital to the Parisian's as they completed a league and cup double and Blanc will be hoping the injury is nothing too serious.
Laurent Blanc will be happy with what he saw from his side during that first half. The home side always looked in control and were rarely threaten by Bastia. Lucas took his goal well to open the scoring in the 26th minute and since then it's been all PSG as they have gone in search of a second. Bastia have had a few moments on the counter but Sirigu was alert when called in to action and the defence have held strong.
That's it from the Parc des Princes and a 2-0 win for the champions in their first home game of the season. It was a routine victory for a PSG side that were rarely tested by Bastia. A first half goal from Lucas and a second from Cavani after the break were enough to ensure the three points remained in Paris.
PSG move on to four points after the first two games as they go in search of a third successive Ligue 1 title. Up next for them is trip to Evian on Friday. For Makelele and his Bastia side it's a home game against Toulouse, where they will be looking to get their first win of the season.
A routine victory then for PSG as they kicked off their home campaign with a win. I've been Kyle Hancox and thanks for joining our live commentary of today's game. I hope you have enjoyed the action, goodbye.
Former PSG captain and France international Claude Makelele makes three changes to the side that started the 3-3 draw against Marseille. In come Mathieu Peybernes, Francois Modesto, El Hadji Ba for Drissa Diakite, Sebastien Squillaci and Yannick Cahuzac. Keeper Alphonse Areola, who is on-loan from PSG, makes his second appearance for the club.
The crowd are in full voice, the players are in the tunnel as kick-off approaches. The defending champions will hoping to get off to a good start in front of their home fans. Having dropped points in the opening weekend it will be important for the Parisians to get a win on the board today as go after a third successive Ligue 1 title.
