Hello and welcome to this evening's LIVE play-by-play commentary on the final day of Ligue 1! Paris Saint-Germain have already been crowned as champions for the second successive year, while Montpellier, who lifted the title in the 2011-12 season, have narrowly avoided relegation this term. The pair go head-to-head at Parc des Princes tonight.
Montpellier lumbered to safety in what has been a troubling Ligue 1 season. After dumping Jean Fernandez, the club have recovered thanks to Rolland Courbis. They held PSG to a 1-1 draw on the opening day back in August
It is Remy Cabella's final game for Montpellier. The highly-rated attacking midfielder has chosen to depart at the end of the season. As to will young midfielder Benjamin Stambouli. Both helped MHSC win the Ligue 1 title two years ago.
It may be the final day of another superb Ligue 1 season. But there is still a lot to be decided. Sochaux v Evian is the standout fixture in Journée 38, as the loser in that fixture is relegated. Saint-Etienne and Lille vie for the final UEFA Champions League spot. Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais vie for the final UEFA Europa League spot.
But the focus returns to the Parc des Princes as Paris Saint-Germain seek to close out a very successful season with victory against Montpellier. They will also receive the Ligue 1 title at the end of the match.
There will be the trophy celebration 10 minutes after the full-time whistle. It is a festive atmosphere in Paris, as the sides emerge to a smoke machine, and flags.
Laurent Blanc makes four changes to the side which defeated Lille 3-1 last weekend. Nicolas Douchez replaces Salvatore Sirigu in goal, while in front of him Christophe Jallet comes in for Zoumana Camara, meaning Marquinhos moves into the centre of defence. Marco Verratti and Yohan Cabaye are not in the matchday squad, with Thiago Motta and Ezequiel Lavezzi replacing them.
HT: PSG 2-0 MHSC - half-time at the Parc. Goals from Lavezzi and Ibrahimovic put the champions in the driving seat, in what is a festive game ahead of tonight's trophy celebration. Montpellier have put up little resistance so far.
