Marcos Alonso gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD! Alonso walks for a second yellow card! The left-back sees red for dissent. That has all but summed up the Black Cats' day.
90'
There will be FOUR minutes of added on time.
89'
N. Redmond enters the game and replaces W. Hoolahan.
STAT ATTACK: If the scoreline stays this way, Sunderland will be on a run of three games without a win.
88'
Elmander enjoys a standing ovation as he makes way for Johnson. His commitment and attitude has been impecible today, even if he has struggled for chances.
87'
B. Johnson enters the game and replaces J. Elmander.
86'
STAT ATTACK: The Canaries have conceded just 12 goals at home this season, the joint-third best tally in the Premier League. Only Arsenal (seven), Manchester City and Chelsea (both nine) have a better record.
84'
SO CLOSE! ...and the goalscorer is just off target with a curling effort to the left of Manonne. The keeper might have had that covered but it was still a sweet strike that just failed to find the target.
82'
Another foul against Sunderland! This time it is Hooper who is upended by Larsson. Snodgrass lines it up in a central position, roughly 25 yards from goal...
81'
P. Bardsley gets yellow.
Bardsley finds himself booked for a cynical fouul on Hoolahan, who was going nowhere on the touchline. That foul was the epitome of frustration for the right-back.
79'
The City fans are baying for blood as Borini slides into Ruddy in an attempt to reach the ball and there is a clash. But both players get up smiling, patting each other on the back and the game continues.
Minute
Description
77'
Marcos Alonso gets yellow.
76'
We have just over 15 minutes plus stoppage time to play here and it looks as though the hosts are pretty satisfied with keeping this score at 2-0. The cushion is allowing them to stay patient on the ball and they look very comfortable.
74'
The Mackems' boss has just plumped himself back in his chair with a frustrated look on his face. Not much he can do about this, but his side have a tricky run in for the rest of the season, so they had better pick their performances up soon!
72'
There have not been many chances in this second half for either side. Will Gus Poyet just put this performance down to a bad day at the office?
71'
I. Scocco enters the game and replaces A. Johnson.
G. Hooper enters the game and replaces R. van Wolfswinkel.
70'
It looks like Van Wolfswinkel will have to wait yet another game to break his goal drought as Gary Hooper is being readied on the bench.
69'
R. Snodgrass gets yellow.
68'
The intensity and atmosphere is starting to drop off at Carrow Road. Every time the Black Cats pour forward it leaves them so exposed to concede a third.
66'
L. Bridcutt gets yellow.
STAT ATTACK: The omens are looking good for the hosts. Norwich have won the last four games against Sunderland at Carrow Road.
64'
Wes Brown uses all his experience to thwart Snodgrass after the goalscorer weaves his way into the box. The former Man United man dives in to block the shot and concede a corner.
62'
Larsson hits a fantastic free-kick into a the area but the Black Cats' attack breaks down straight away. They are desperate for a window of opportunity to get back into this game.
60'
The Carrow Road faithful have gone a little quiet. Surely they cannot be suffering from an attack of jangling nerves with half an hour to go?
57'
The hosts are coming under increasing pressure here as Howson blasts a Bardsley cross away for a corner. The quick free-kick leads to a terrible effort from Cattermole. He hit it as if the ball had in that second turned into lead!
55'
STAT ATTACK: Sunderland have not won at Norwich in nine attempts since the 1984-85 season, when both clubs were relegated from the top flight.
53'
EASY SAVE! The Black Cats hesitate on the ball as the gaps in the Canaries defense narrow. Bridcutt finally seizes a chance but his effort is deflected and loops in the air for Ruddy to collect.
52'
MAGNIFICENT SAVE! The England keeper has the reactions of Superman to deny Brown's header from point blank range! Sunderland are beginning to look threatening again.
50'
His team maybe in dire straits right now, but Gus Poyet just refuses to get out of his seat. Time from some wise words from the gaffer, methinks.
48'
SO CLOSE FOR VAN WOLFSWINKEL! The Canaries record signing leaps high to a cross and heads it into the ground but Manonne is equal to it as the keeper tips it over the bar for a corner.
47'
J. Howson gets yellow.
Howson is penalised for a niggly tackle on Altidore who then shoves the midfielder. It looked a little unnecessary to me.
46'
Sunderland get the ball rolling as the second half gets underway!
45' +1
There will be a minimum of THREE minutes of added time.
45'
STAT ATTACK: Lee Cattermole was booked after only three minutes on the pitch.
44'
Not long to go here before half time and Norwich are still looking quicker, brighter and sharper. What must the Black Cats do to get back into this one?
43'
L. Cattermole gets yellow.
42'
When you see just how well the home side have played today, it makes you wonder just why they cannot play with this intensity and urgency every week. The home faithful are loving it and rightly so.
40'
L. Cattermole enters the game and replaces Ki Sung-Yueng.
S. Larsson enters the game and replaces J. Colback.
SAVE! Bardsley looks like he is brought down in the box but the ball runs to the unmarked Borini, who sees his low shot smothered by Ruddy.
38'
STAT ATTACK: Chris Hughton's side are unbeaten in their last five home games (W2, D3).
37'
J. Colback gets yellow.
35'
Wow, that strike has got Carrow Road buzzing! There was nothing Manonne could have done about that. Gus Poyet, however, is looking to make a couple of changes. He is far from happy.
33'
A. Tettey has scored a goal for Norwich City!
WHAT A GOAL! Tettey, take a bow, son! The midfielder nets his first Premier League goal with a first-time volley from 30 yards that flies straight into the top corner. That had goal of the season written all over it!
30'
CHANCE! Howson is up for this one. The midfielder is all by himself as the Canaries breakaway and he takes a fantastic touch to allude O'Shea and shoots from 40 yards. Unfortunately, for the home fans, his effort is way off target with Mannone off his line.
28'
STAT ATTACK: The Canaries have only scored two or more goals on four occasions this season.
26'
GOLDEN CHANCE! Van Wolfswinkel fails to make connection with a low cross on the left and misses a great chance to score his first league goal since the opening day of the season. Chris Hughton is going potty on the sidelines!
25'
GREAT SAVE! When Howson hits them, they stay hit! The midfielder rifles it towards goal and Mannone has to claw the ball away from danger. Norwich are looking to double their lead!
24'
Johnson and Borini are linking up well here as the winger drifts a lovely ball into the box and the Liverpool loanee fails to test Ruddy between the sticks.
22'
OVER! Borini goes straight up the other end and wins a free-kick 25 yards out. Johnson puts the ball towards the back post but Brown's effort is high and off target.
20'
R. Snodgrass has scored a goal for Norwich City! Assist by J. Elmander.
GOAL! Norwich take the lead! Snodgrass is picked out by Elmander in the box and he runs onto the ball and lashes it low into the bottom corner. The Sunderland defense failed to deal with another great Olsson cross and they will be kicking themselves that they didn't deal with that. WHAT A GOAL! Tettey with a breathtaking effort doubles Norwich's lead! The midfielder wallops it first time from 30 yards and it flies into the top corner. Goal of the season contender, for sure!
18'
Sunderland are playing the long ball up to Altidore but the tactic is not working. The visitors will need to be more imaginative than that if they are to go in front here.
16'
Bassong really has to be alive to the danger as he holds off Altidore to clear the ball as the USA International looked to poke his side in the lead. The battle between those two will be crucial in these teams fortunes today.
14'
Mannone comes haring off his line to punch the ball out for a corner after a dangerous free-kick from Snodgrass causes all kinds of confusion in the Black Cats' box.
12'
DOUBLE CHANCE! Hoolahan hits one from a central position roughly 20 yards out but Brown puts his body in the way and the shot deflects to Howson, who leathers a half-volley into the grateful arms of Mannone.
11'
Gus Poyet is rooted to his seat but he cannot be happy with the pressure his side has been under in the opening exchanges. The visitors are yet to get a foothold in this one.
9'
STAT ATTACK: The Black Cats have lost just one of their last seven away games - a 4-1 defeat by Arsenal.
7'
HALF CHANCE! Olsson whips a superb ball into the six-yard-box and it causes all kinds of confusion in the box as Mannone leaps off his line to try and tip it over the bar but Borini puts it out for a Norwich corner.
6'
The referee is having a good long talk with Bassong after the Canaries skipper gets in a tangle with Altidore. Hard to see who was actually at fault, there.
4'
The home side have definitely started firing on all cylinders as they look to penetrate the visitor's defence with some good early passing.
2'
WASTED! Snodgrass gets an early chance to deliver a free-kick into a dangerous area but he hits it low into the wall before blasting the rebound over.
1'
We are underway with Norwich kicking from right to left.
Hello! Good afternoon and welcome to our coverage of this crucial Premier League six-pointer between Norwich and Sunderland. My name is Hayden Gribble and I shall be bringing you all the action from Carrow Road. But first, here's the team news...
Canaries boss Chris Hughton makes five changes from the side who lost 3-2 away to Southampton last weekend and recalls captain Sebastien Bassong, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Johan Elmander. Nathan Redmond has to make do with a place on the bench.
Meanwhile, the Black Cats boss Gus Poyet makes two changes to his side as Joze Altidore replaces the injured Steven Fletcher whilst Sebastian Larsson is replaced by Jack Colback as they look to pull themselves away from the drop zone.
TEN MINUTES TO GO! Sunderland desperately need all three points today as they sit 18th, just three points off Crystal Palace. The Eagles play title contenders Liverpool today, so for the visitors, this is their chance.
Phil Dowd will be the man with the whistle as kick-off looms!
A nice moment has just happened pre-match. A World War Two veteran has just carried the match ball on to the pitch and was greeted by a huge round of applause from both sets of fans at Carrow Road. Meanwhile, both teams are lining up in the tunnel.
HALF TIME - NORWICH 2-0 SUNDERLAND. The pressure will be lifted off Chris Hughton after what must be the best 45 minutes his side has played this side of Christmas. Two goals - including a belter from Alex Tettey, has put the Canaries on top here. Sunderland have been woeful and there is plenty of work to do in the second half if they to get anything out of this game.
Both teams are making their way back oo to the pitch, can Norwich keep their intensity up? Or will Sunderland stage a comeback in the battle to avoid the drop?
FULL TIME: NORWICH 2-0 Sunderland. A huge roar greets the full time whistle as the Canaries emerge victorious. Two first half goals - one a terrific strike from Tettey - seals the points to ease pressure on Chris Hughton. The visitors were just not at the races and Alonso's second yellow for dissent in stoppage time summed up Gus Poyet's day.
Many thanks for joining me for this game. I have been Hayden Gribble and I hope you have a great weekend. Take care, now.
