MADNESS AT THE FINAL WHISTLE! Newcastle win a corner that falls for Krul. He has a stab at it from the top of the box and it hits the arm of Heitinga. Krul is screaming for a penalty but nothing is given, as Webb blows his full-time whistle!
90' +2
Shot from distance now takes a deflection and wins Fulham a corner. It's played short and they waste precious time near the corner flag. Sidwell charges in with a spectacular tackle and more time runs off the clock. Goal kick and last chance for Newcastle.
90' +1
Ameobi commits a foul on Amorbieta, who goes down to waste some time. Stockdale appears to be in no rush to take this free kick.
90'
Three minutes of added time...
89'
Armstrong certainly isn't lacking for confidence. Kvist watching as the youngster charges towards the box. Sidwell races across and forces a shot from distance that he sends well over the bar.
88'
STAT ATTACK: There have been five goals scored in the 85th minute or later in their last five Premier League meetings.
87'
D. Burn enters the game and replaces A. Dejagah.
86'
A. Armstrong enters the game and replaces L. de Jong.
DE JONG! Dummett crosses in again, and the Dutch striker climbs over Amorbieta far too easily and glances his header just wide of the far post! That's the last we'll see from De Jong as he comes off for 18-year-old Adam Armstrong.
84'
Stockdale, as he has all game, is smartly out to collect yet another Dummett cross. Newcastle's build-up play is improving, but they aren't posing any real threat on goal at the moment, lacking quality once they get inside the box.
82'
S. Riether enters the game and replaces L. Holtby.
Fulham trying to keep the ball in Newcastle's end. The fans singing has subdued a bit, as they anxiously count down the final minutes. You could cut the tension with a knife.
Minute
Description
81'
S. Marveaux enters the game and replaces V. Anita.
80'
Newcastle beginning to pour on the pressure. Anita and De Jong work a give and go, but Anita can't get to the return ball. It's worked out to Sissoko along the right, who crosses in but no one is there! Hangelaand clears under virtually no pressure and the danger is averted.
78'
Appeals for a penalty! Dummett plays the ball into the box. It bounces awkwardly into the arm of Amorbieta, but Webb sees nothing in it. Newcastle continue to apply the pressure and win a corner. Sissoko's ball in is again poor, unable to beat the first defender at the near post. We've had a real lack of quality with these corner kicks today.
75'
Fulham work the ball forward again. They have that spring in their step now. Kacaniklic's delivery skips towards the defenders at the near post and is cleared easily.
73'
STAT ATTACK: The Magpies have lost 10 of the 11 league games in which they have been behind this season, the lone exception being a 5-1 win over Stoke City on Boxing Day.
71'
Shola Ameobi enters the game and replaces P. Cissé.
Newcastle can't string more than a few passes together, and Fulham are chasing every ball down, injected with new life after the goal. Cisse makes way for Ameobi now, as Newcastle search for an equalizer.
68'
A. Dejagah has scored a goal for Fulham! Assist by L. Holtby.
A. Dejagah gets yellow.
GOAAAAAAL! Horrendous from Tim Krul! Dejagah in attack, just second after Stockdale's massive save. He cuts to his right and drives his shot about a foot off the ground. Krul gets over to make what should be a routine stop, but it dips under his hands and Craven Cottage erupts!
Dejagah takes his jersey off in celebration and picks up a yellow card.
67'
CISSE! Big chance for Papiss Cisse, after a disastrous giveaway from Kvist. The striker is through on goal but cant beat Stockdale with his curling effort!
65'
STAT ATTACK: Fulham are in danger of going 10 Premier League matches without a win for the first time since November 2007 to January 2008.
63'
Fulham are absolutely dominating in midfield at the moment. Sissoko the only bright spot for Newcaslte, as he picks out the run of De Jong inside the box. Amorbieta slides in with a good challenge and the Magpies have a corner, but fail to make it count as it results in a goal kick.
61'
A. Dejagah enters the game and replaces P. Kasami.
Kacaniklic looked set to come off earlier on, but he has sprung to life in the last 10 minutes. It's Kasami instead who will make way for Iranian Ashkan Dejagah.
58'
The replay of Heitinga's shot is shown, and the goal decision system says NO GOAL! It's about as close as it can get to crossing the line, without being fully across. There was the slightest fraction of the ball still touching.
56'
Nonetheless, Craven Cottage is buzzing now! Kacaniklic races at the defenders before picking out Woodrow on the right. His shot from a sharp angle is fisted away, right back to Kacaniklic who can't get his follow up passed the wall of defenders.
54'
The original Heitinga shot looked to be across, but as it bounces out, Woodrow is there to collect and put it in, but he's ruled offside! Not sure how Fulham didn't get their opener there! Where is this goal-line technology we hear so much about now?
53'
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Fulham with two clear cut chances but no goal has been given! Kacaniklic crosses in for Kasami. His shot is blocked, out to Heitinga whose deflected shot loops over Krul, off the underside of the bar and looked to be across the line!
51'
Keiran Richardson gets up from his right-back position and crosses in for Sidwell. Fulham win a corner, but Holtby's cross is cleared by a fearless Williamson. The hosts keep the pressure on, but Kacaniklic rather embarrassingly shies away from a header and Krul can pick up and stop the attack.
50'
De Jong makes a nice run to make himself available for a pass. He runs by Amorbieta, but can't turn his final shot on goal, as it trickles harmlessly wide of the near post.
48'
OFFSIDE! Fulham think they have scored the opener, but Sidwell is ruled offside! Holtby's ball is played in to Sidwell at the back post. He heads it into the centre of the box where Kasami smacks it into the back of the net. Sidwell was just a fraction offside.
46'
Newcastle kick-off and the second half is underway at Craven Cottage. Fulham gain possession and win a free kick within 30 seconds.
45' +1
That does it for the first half. Less than a minute added on at the end as Howard Webb blows the half-time whistle.
45'
Kacaniklic and Kasami link up well as we enter injury time. Fulham have men forward but the final ball is poor and cleared. Kacaniklic tries to hit it back into the box, but Kasami is adjudged offside as he sends his header wide.
44'
Not sure what Kvist is doing there! He receives the ball inside the box, and tries to dance it away from danger. He gave it away to Anita, and nearly concedes a penalty diving in to try and win it back! Anita avoids the challenge but has his shot blocked by Amorbieta.
41'
Gouffran beats Kvist now far too easily near the far corner flag. His cross in is well placed, but De Jong and Cisse get in the was of each other as the final contact is poor and easily dealt with by Stockdale. Newcastle are having plenty of success working along the right, however, regardless of who has been back there to defend.
39'
Sidwell wins the ball back in midfield and Fulham are in attack again, winning a corner. Not for the first time today, Holtby's corner is cleared low at the near post by the first defender. The ball is played back in by Heitinga, and after a bit of a scramble, Kasami scuffs his shot and it's out for a goal kick.
37'
Kasami shows some class here as he beats both Tiote and Dummett by the corner flag, but his final ball is lacking as it's over the head of Woodrow and into the welcome arms of Krul.
35'
STOCKDALE! Sissoko runs by Kacaliknic and Amorbieta along the right before crossing in for De Jong. The Dutchman can't connect on the volley, but it rolls for Cisse who reacts well to put it on goal, but can't beat Stockdale who got to ground so quickly, stretching well to make a one handed stop.
33'
De Jong now with what looks like the first shot on target today for Newcastle. He runs at the defenders well, and has options to either side, but opts to have a shot. He doesn't make good contact and it rolls into the arms of Stockdale.
31'
BRILLIANT STOP FROM KRUL! Finally the first real chance of the night. Anita gives away possession in midfield, allowing Kacaniklic to break. The Swede lobs it into the box for Sidwell, who heads it to Holtby at the top of the box. His curling effort in marked for the top corner, but Krul spectacularly flies through the air to turn the shot aside!
29'
STAT ATTACK: Fulham have used 36 different players in the league this season, one shy of Middlesbrough's Premier League record of 37, set back in 2005-06.
27'
Sissoko finally provides a good ball in, as he's giving Amorbieta all sorts of problems on the right. The low, driven cross is defended very well by Heitinga who lunges in to clear the ball before Cisse can get to it. The ensuing corner is cleared.
25'
I can't recall how many simple catches Krul and Stockdale have had to make through the first 25 minutes. Both teams taking every opportunity to cross the ball in, but there has been a real lack of quality with these balls played into the box, making life very easy for the keepers.
23'
Fulham are lacking the energy they had at the start of the match and are just beginning to chase the game a little bit. They seem content on booting the ball up the pitch when they get it, but Coloccini seems up to the task, winning nearly every header at the back.
21'
Kvist fouls De Jong for a third time today, and Newcastle win themselves a free kick from about 25 yards out. Dummett has a go for goal, but Stockdale comfortably watches it sail high and wide of the top corner.
19'
Dangerous play from Williamson! Woodrow shows his strength and determination to chase down a hopeful ball. Williamson keeps it in play near the touchline, and the youngster dispossesses him inside the box. Krul is alert to the danger, however, and rushes out to grab the ball before Woodrow can get a shot off.
16'
The lively start has has fizzled out as the pace begins to slow as we approach the 20 minute mark. Fulham are keen to chase every ball and are committing to every challenge. Perhaps the dictatorship reign of Felix Magath is beginning to take effect on the Cottagers.
14'
STAT ATTACK: Newcastle have one draw and four losses in games played without Loic Remy this season, while being outscored 14-0.
12'
Newcastle back up the field, in what is becoming a game of corner kicks. Dummett takes the corner and it's punched clear from Stockdale. Coloccini picks out Dummett again, but his second chance cross is caught easily by the keeper.
10'
Holtby! Fulham break with plenty of pace on the counter and win a corner. The German midfielder whips it right across the face of goal, with Krul reacting quickly to turn it away with his foot. All it needed was a touch from Fulham.
9'
Sissoko streaks down the right and Amorbieta can't deal with the pace and strength of the France international. Heitinga and Hangelaand stagnant in the box, but Sissoko can't pick out a cross.
7'
Back the other way and it's Fulham who win a free kick in virtually an identical position. Holtby the one to deliver, and Woodrow nearly met it at the back post with his outstretched foot.
5'
Good early energy for Fulham, but it's important for them to make it count. A silly turnover in midfield allows De Jong to takeover possession and he's dragged down, winning Newcastle a free kick. The ball is lofted in for Goufrann, who barely gets a touch before Stockdale collects.
3'
Lewis Holtby wins the first corner of the match for Fulham, but the German's cross in is poor. He gets a second chance and nearly picks out Woodroow. Coloccini fearlessly heads away.
1'
Howard Webb blows his whistle and Fulham get us underway! The hosts, moving from left to right, are wearing their white shirts and black shorts, while Newcaslte wear their all blue away kits.
Good afternoon Premiership fans around the world, and welcome to today's clash between Newcastle and Fulham at Craven Cottage. I'm Alex Moretto and I'll be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
All is not completely lost yet for Fulham. The Cottagers are actually a point better off than they were through 29 games under Roy Hodgson in the 2007-08 campaign. They managed to pick up 16 points from their final nine league fixtures that season to survive on goal differential. Felix Magath says Fulham should be able to survive if they win their five remaining home fixtures against Newcastle, Everton, Norwich City, Hull City and Crystal Palace. It is no easy task, but Magath can etch his name into Fulham folklore if he manages the great escape.
Newcastle sit stagnant in eighth place in the Premier League table. A top five finish seems somewhat of a longshot, while there is a 12 point gap separating them from the bottom half of the table. It will, however, be interesting to see how the Magpies respond following the seven match stadium ban of manager Alan Pardew. Fans are somewhat inexplicably calling for him to be sacked, so Newcastle’s performance today under John Carver will be very telling as to how they feel about their charismatic boss.
The teams have been announced, so let us have ourselves a look at today's starting line-ups:
CHANGES: Ashkan Dejagah faced a late fitness test and will start this match on the bench. Giorgios Karagounis and Scott Parker remain sidelined, while Kostas Mitroglu is nowhere to be found, with Felix Magath stating the Greek striker hasn't adjusted yet to Premier League football. This paves the way for 19-year-old striker Cauley Woodrow to get his second career start.
NEWCASTLE XI (4-4-1-1): Krul; Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett; Sissoko, Tiote, Anita, Goufrann; De Jong; Cisse.
CHANGES: Newcastle, who are already without suspended manager Alan Pardew, also have to deal with the absence of French trio Loic Remy, Mathieu Debuchy and Hatem Ben Arfa. Meanwhile, Fabricio Coloccini returns from Argentina where he was dealing with a family matter.
STAT ATTACK: The Cottagers are in danger of losing their fifth straight home match in England's top flight for the first time since January 1962. They have never previously done so in the Premier League era.
HALF-TIME: FULHAM 0-0 NEWCASTLE. Plenty of intent from the two teams as the match got underway, but it has fizzled out since. All in all it has been an uninspiring opening 45 minutes from both sides. The three points are up for grabs, we'll see who wants it more in the second half.
STAT ATTACK: Newcastle have lost in four consecutive trips to Craven Cottage, and six of the last seven, with their last win coming in December 2007.
FULL-TIME: FULHAM 1-0 NEWCASTLE. The hosts pick up a massive win, and a well-deserved three points at that. After a sluggish first half, Fulham came out to play in the final 45 minutes, dominating the second frame from start to finish. Heitinga was unlucky not to score the opener, but substitute Dejagah finally gave Fulham the lead with just over 20 minutes to play. Newcaslte never did pose a real threat for an equalizer, as the Premier League's worst defence hangs tough for a vital three points.
I'm Alex Moretto and I'd like to thank you all for joining me today. Good bye!
