Serbia get the game underway.
Good evening and welcome to Goal's live coverage of the Republic of Ireland and Serbia at the Aviva Stadium. I'm Ronan Murphy, and I'll be bringing you all the action for the next two hours or so.
The friendly is Martin O'Neill's third game in charge as Ireland manager, while Ljubinko Drulovic is hoping to make his caretaker role a permanent one after replacing Sinisa Mihajlovic as Serbian boss.
There are many familiar faces for Premier League fans in the Serbian line-up, while the big talking point for the Boys in Green is the omission of John O'Shea from the Ireland team.
Shane Long leads the line for Ireland, and manager Martin O'Neill has been promoting him as the natural successor to Robbie Keane for the Boys in Green. The LA Galaxy striker remains at his club following ankle surgery and misses tonight's friendly.
The teams are on the pitch, and are all being presented to Ireland President Michael D Higgins, who is a huge football fan, and is expected to closely follow Galway FC in their upcoming League of Ireland campaign.
Quite a full bench for the Boys in Green this evening, but only six replacements can be made by either side.
The anthems are being belted out this evening by both teams, and a small Serbian support.
O'Neill has gone for an all new central defensive pairing with Marc Wilson lining up beside relative international newcomer Richard Keogh.
Martin O'Neill's side lead by a goal at half-time, and looked the better side for much of the half.
O'Neill will be happy with his side's performance so far. Ireland have twice had the ball in the net, and defended well for the most part.
Wales and Iceland have gone in 1-1 at half-time, with James Collins giving the hosts the lead before an Ashley Williams own goal levelled the tie.
England are in the final minutes of their first-half with Denmark, where it's still scoreless.
Some of Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifying opponents are also in action tonight. Germany lead Chile 1-0 with Mario Gotze on target. Scotland are scoreless in Poland, while Georgia beat Liechtenstein 2-0.
The teams are back out on the pitch, with no changes to either side.
Martin O'Neill's side have yet to concede in either of his games in charge so far, could we be in line for another stalemate this evening? There's a few players in the squad tonight who will be out to impress and force their way into O'Neill's plans, so that could liven up what is usually one of the less exciting friendly dates.
It's all over at the Aviva Stadium, where Martin O'Neill experiences his first defeat as Ireland boss.
The Boys in Green don't have another international game until May, but play a number of summer friendlies to help O'Neill fine tune his side ahead of Euro 2016 qualifying.
That's all from me, Ronan Murphy, at the Aviva Stadium. Disappointment for Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland, who were missing some veteran players. Would the experience of Keane and O'Shea have made the difference?
