Bayern's 14th corner of the game is wasted and it looks like City are going to hold out for an unlikely victory here!
90' +1
The fourth official signals there will be two added minutes...
90'
Shaqiri floats a cross into the box from the right-hand side but again the City defence step forward to catch Bayern offside. Dante is the offender on this occasion. He's had a bit of a nightmare tonight the Brazil international.
88'
J. Rodwell enters the game and replaces E. Džeko.
City look set to make their third and final change. Jack Rodwell, who has been plagued by injuries since his move from Everton, will replace Dzeko. A midfielder on for a striker.
86'
Lescott steps forward to catch Shaqiri offside as Bayern continue their search for a late equaliser here at the Allianz Arena. City are standing strong at the moment, with less than five minutes left on the clock.
84'
Hart parries Kroos' free kick straight to Shaqiri but the Bayern sub elects to drift a pass out of play rather than shooting at goal. I bet he regrets that...
83'
P. Zabaleta gets yellow.
Zabaleta picks up a yellow card after cynically catching Ribery as the Bayern winger tries to vault over a challenge and advance down the left.
82'
Bayern had 70% possession when I last looked towards the end of the first half. Eighty-two minutes in and that has been shorn to a mere 56%, which is testament to the job that City's midfield have done in this second half.
80'
DECENT SAVE FROM NEUER! More lackadaisical defending from Dante allows City a chance. This time it is Negredo that nearly profits from his dallying in possession. The Spaniard steals the ball and arrows a shot towards the bottom left corner, that, but for a strong leg from Neuer, would have made it 4-2.

Description
78'
Fernandinho gets yellow.
Fernandinho crashes into Kroos 35 yards from goal and though the referee allows Bayern to play the advantage, when the play breaks down he goes back to the Brazilian and raises a yellow card in his direction. No surprises there.
76'
Bayern have won three corners in quick succession, but they are not proving as clinical from set pieces as they were at the start of the game, when Gotze controlled the ball in a crowded area to put them two goals ahead. How long ago that seems!
75'
Moments later Negredo does help clear a corner for the visitors, as he gets in front of Dante to nod the ball away to safety.
73'
Álvaro Negredo enters the game and replaces David Silva.
The former Sevilla man races on to help his team defend a corner, but is not called into action as City win a free kick due to a foul by Alaba on Zabaleta.
72'
And now City are making their second switch. Negredo is the man being introduced, at Silva's expense.
70'
Martinez thinks he can win the ball from Silva on the left, but the City attacker shields it from his Spanish compatriot which draws a foul and in turn a free kick for his side.
68'
X. Shaqiri enters the game and replaces M. Mandžukić.
We're seeing a second change for the hosts as Xherdan Shaqiri comes on for Muller with just over 20 minutes to play.
67'
STAT: Bayern have lost just one previous Champions League match in which they held a two-goal lead, back in November 2010 when they surrendered a 2-0 lead to Roma and lost 3-2.
65'
Dante has a chance to head his side level from a free kick, but his effort goes some way high and wide of Hart's goal. There was a chance for redemption for the Brazilian, but he fluffed his lines.
63'
Milner for man of the match? The 27-year-old midfielder set up Silva's goal, won the penalty to make it 2-2 and then put the Citizens ahead with a fine finish.
62'
J. Milner has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by Jesús Navas.
JIMMY MILNER MAKES IT 3-2! The England international won the penalty a few minutes ago and now he has whipped a curling effort into the bottom right corner from 15 yards to put City ahead. A Navas cross was allowed to run all the way through to Milner at the back post and he did brilliantly to send the ball back past Neuer and into the far corner.
60'
Well, I don't think Guardiola and his Bayern side were expecting that! The hosts have certainly taken their foot off the gas after flying into an early two-goal lead. City have shown decent endeavor to get back into this game though, particularly given that Pellegrini made seven changes from his last starting line-up.
59'
Penalty goal scored by A. Kolarov for Manchester City!
KOLAROV PUTS CITY LEVEL! The Serbian full-back sends Neuer the wrong way, stroking the ball into the bottom left corner.
58'
PENALTY TO CITY!! Milner goes down under a challenge from Dante on the left side of the box with the ball rolling out of play and the referee immediately points to the spot.
57'
Kolarov hangs a pass down the line to Milner, but the robust England international is flagged offside by the linesman on the far side. The Yorkshireman looks aggrieved by that decision but the official got it spot on.
56'
Bayern make their first change of the evening as Javi Martinez lopes on to the field to replace Gotze, who looks to be struggling with an injury.
55'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
54'
There's Garcia! The City midfielder has barely featured in the opening 54 minutes but he has shown good awareness just now to steal the ball from Muller after he looked to take a pass from Gotze in his stride.
53'
Silva crumples to the deck after being clipped by Gotze and City win a free kick inside the centre circle.
52'
GOOD STOP FROM NEUER! The German shotstopper does brilliantly to keep out a great dig from Dzeko on the turn after City had done well to work the ball down the left.
50'
Bayern launch a blistering counter down the left after switching the play through Kroos. Ribery glides forward before slipping a pass into the path of the overlapping Alaba, but his cross towards Mandzukic is blocked away by a recovering Zabaleta.
49'
STAT: The Citizens' European record on German soil prior to tonight reads five defeats from their six matches played. Their only win was a 2-0 victory against Schalke in the 2008/09 Uefa Cup group stage.
47'
Fernandinho pings a good pass into Dzeko from the centre circle, and the Bosnian cushions it neatly to Navas. The winger looks to fizz an effort towards the top corner with his right foot, but it is blocked by the torso of Boateng on the penalty spot.
46'
Bayern get the second half underway...
45' +1
And there is the half-time whistle!
45'
VITAL TACKLE FROM DEMICHELIS! The former Bayern man puts in a last-ditch block to stop Muller's curling effort from finding the bottom right corner after he had been played in brilliantly by a divine back heel by Mandzukic.
44'
J. Milner gets yellow.
STRONG STOP FROM HART! Ribery ghosts across the edge of the City box before cutting a reverse pass back into the path of Gotze. The former Dortmund man took a touch and then tried to lift a shot over Hart, but the goalkeeper came out quickly to close the angle and deflect the ball away.
42'
E. Džeko gets yellow.
London buses. Dzeko follows Dante into the book for an ugly challenge on the Brazilian centre-back. He leads with his elbow as the pair tussle for the ball and the referee takes a dim view of the illegal attempt to win the ball.
41'
Dante is the first player into David Fernandez's notebook, and it is the correct decision as he hurtles into Navas just as the nippy winger looks to open up and sprint down the right.
40'
Dante gets yellow.
Ribery has an angry exchange of words with Silva after the silky midfielder caught the Frenchman with a petulant kick. Play was allowed to continue with Ribery still in possession, but after he had moved the ball on he turned round and wagged a finger at his Spanish opponent.
38'
Alaba shows his defensive credentials by beating Dzeko in the air and then shifting through a couple of gears to get to the rebound ahead of the not-slow Navas.
37'
Dzeko doesn't know quite what to do when he gets the ball high on the left though, and Bayern are able to avert the danger as Lahm tracks back to dispossess the Bosnian forward.
36'
The Bavarian giants win a corner on the left that Kroos loops towards the penalty spot. No blue shirts are able to meet the cross though and City are able to break on the counter after clearing a second cross from the right.
34'
City were blown away in the opening 15 minutes by their impressive opponents, but since then they have worked hard to come back into the game. That goal from Silva has given them hope of turning the match round as we head towards the break, although they need to win by three clear goals to leapfrog Bayern and move into first place in Group D.
32'
GROUP D UPDATE: Elsewhere in the group it remains 0-0 between CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen.
31'
Mandzukic comes close to accidentally increasing Bayern's lead, after Kolarov had blasted a clearance against the Croatian attacker inside the City box. The ball cannoned off his shin and towards the City goal, but fortunately for Kolarov it bounced harmlessly onto the roof of the net.
29'
Demichelis is penalised for climbing all over Mandzukic and Bayern have yet another free kick. The set piece breaks up what has been a City-tinted period of possession.
28'
David Silva has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by J. Milner.
CITY PULL ONE BACK THROUGH SILVA!! Navas pushes the ball into a yard of space on the right and then proceeds to whip a delicious cross into the box, that inexplicably no City player attacks at the first time of asking. Milner is alert to divert the ball back into the danger area though, as he heads it into the path of Silva who sidefoots it past Neuer from six yards. Game on?
26'
Neuer sprints off his line as City try and break down the right. Navas was looking to race onto a high lofted pass from midfield but he was beaten the ball by Bayern's goalkeeper, who came motoring off his line to head the ball out for a throw.
25'
WONDERFUL PLAY FROM RIBERY!! The France international toys with Zabaleta on the left-hand side, turning the right-back inside-out, not once but twice. The defender does well to stand his ground eventually though, as he blocks the Ballon d'Or candidates chipped cross.
23'
Neuer clips a 30-yard pass into the feet of Gotze, as City push Bayern high up the pitch. The English side have started to string a few passes together in the last couple of minutes, after a blistering start from Guardiola's men.
22'
STAT: Pellegrini has never beaten a side led by his opposite number Guardiola in nine previous meetings, losing eight of those. (via Uefa.com)
20'
Bayern's players want the ball so much that they have actually dispossessed each other on a couple of occasions in this first half. The hosts have had 70% of possession in the opening 20 minutes at the Allianz Arena, and completed 138 passes.
18'
LESCOTT BLOCKS A RIBERY EFFORT! Kroos' driven corner finds Ribery 25 yards out and he sends a rising half volley towards goal that Lescott does well to jump in front of and deflect away to safety.
17'
Lescott does enough to put Mandzukic off and nod a cross from the left behind for a corner.
16'
P. Zabaleta enters the game and replaces M. Richards.
City are camped in their own half as Bayern continue to stroke the ball about supremely. On the rare occasions they have foraged into the German side's half they have then gifted possession to their opponents with lacklustre passes.
15'
Micah Richards is in a lot of trouble for City. He's clearly taken a knock and he is going to replaced by Zabaleta with just a quarter of an hour gone at the Allianz Arena.
14'
Pablo Zabaleta is warming up for the visitors and it looks like City might be forced into making an early change here...
12'
M. Götze has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOTZE MAKES IT 2-0!! Bayern double their lead from a corner after Ribery had an effort tipped onto the woodwork. The resulting corner fell to the feet of Mandzukic in the penalty area, but he could not get a shot on target. The ball landed kindly to Gotze though, and he made no mistake from close range, slotting the ball under Hart after taking a touch to compose himself.
11'
GOOD STOP FROM HART! Ribery flicks the free kick onto the head of Dante, who rises above Garcia majestically, but Hart is equal to the defender's effort as he dives to his right to claim the ball.
10'
Ribery burst down the right for the home side but is brought crashing to a halt by a mistimed challenge by Lescott. Bayern have another free kick, this time on the right.
9'
STAT: Bayern are bidding to become only the sixth club to win six games in a group stage after AC Milan (1992/93), Paris Saint-Germain (1994/95), Spartak Moscow (1995/96), Barcelona (2002/03) and Real Madrid (2011/12).
7'
City are yet to settle in Munich and the hosts have just fashioned another opportunity to test Hart. Mandzukic does very well to dispossess Demichelis high on the left and then bustles his way into the box only to have the ball nicked off him by Ribery. The confusion between the pair allows Lescott to step in, and he grabs at the chance to hack the ball upfield.
5'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Dante.
BAYERN TAKE THE LEAD!! It's been one-way traffic in the first five minutes and the hosts have now taken the lead! Dante, of all people, splits the City defence with a driven long pass to Muller, and he controls the ball brilliantly with his chest before driving an effort past Hart and into the bottom left corner.
4'
WHAT IS LESCOTT DOING?! The out-of-favour centre-back sends a nonchalant backpass in the vague direction of Hart, but the ball goes well wide of the England goalkeeper, who has a moment of panic with Ribery bearing down on him. The ball runs out of play and Bayern have their first corner of the evening.
3'
Ribery looks to whip the free kick towards Dante, who has made his way forward from centre-back, but Fernandinho is able to get his head to the ball before it reaches its intended Brazilian target.
2'
A sloppy tackle from Jesus Navas on Mandzukic gifts Bayern an early free kick on the left-hand side. Ribery and Alaba stand over the set piece...
1'
City get the ball rolling but quickly lose it and Bayern move the ball to Ribery on the right. The French speedster careers off in the direction of the City box, before being dispossessed by an alert Demichelis.
Good evening ladies and gents and welcome to LIVE coverage of the Champions League Group D clash between Bayern Munich and Manchester City at the Allianz Arena. My name is Charlie Scott and I'll be guiding you through the twists and turns of this one, as Manuel Pellegrini's side take on a Bayern team that have won their last 18 fixtures at home.
Pep Guardiola's men have won all five of their Champions League fixtures in the group stages, and sit proudly atop of Group D, with City three points behind them in second place. Both teams are already through to the knockout stage, and it would take a City win by three clear goals to usurp their German opponents.
Without further ado, let's have a quick look at the two starting XIs. Will City go for broke in an attempt to top the group? Or will Pellegrini name a line-up with one eye on City's busy run of fixtures over the coming weeks?
BAYERN TEAM NEWS: Guardiola makes two changes from the XI that started in the weekend demolition of Werder Bremen, as Rafinha and Daniel van Buyten make way for Philip Lahm and Dante in defence. The hosts line up in an exciting 4-1-4-1 formation, with Thiago sitting in front of the back four. Mario Mandzukic starts as a lone striker, if you can call it that. He is supported in attack by Toni Kroos, Mario Gotze, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery. Not shabby...
CITY TEAM NEWS: Pellegrini, meanwhile, makes SEVEN changes to his side that limped to a 1-1 draw against Southampton. The only familiar faces from that team that start tonight are Aleksandar Kolarov, Martin Demichelis, Fernandinho and James Milner. The Chilean coach has clearly named a starting line-up with City's festive pile-up of fixtures at the front of his mind. Their bench boasts the considerable talents of Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo and Vincent Kompany, while Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure do not even make the squad.
Bayern taught City a bit of a lesson at the Etihad on matchday two, triumphing 3-1. Despite the one-sided scoreline, Guardiola has since insisted that the gulf in quality is far smaller than the final score suggested.
The two sides emerge to an ear-splitting reception at the Allianz Arena. The wonderful Champions League theme tune is impeccably observed and we are now just moments from kick-off...
A banner reading 'Madiba, The World Will Never Forget' is held by both sets of players before this match gets underway. That's a nice touch from Uefa, recognising the life and influence of Nelson Mandela, who sadly passed away last week.
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 2-1 CITY - The reigning champions lead at the break thanks to early goals from Muller and Gotze. A well-worked move from City, that was finished by Silva, reduced the deficit in the 28th minute, as Pellegrini's side grew into the game as the half wore on. Despite that the hosts threatened towards the end of the period, and only a vital interception from Demichelis stopped Muller from scoring his second and Bayern's third seconds before the break.
It will be interesting to see how Pellegrini approaches the second half in Munich. Will he throw on a second striker and go for a point, or maybe all three? Or will he keep things how they are, after his City side improved markedly after a torrid start?
We have live coverage of the second half at the Allianz Arena, coming right up!
FULL-TIME: BAYERN 2-3 MAN CITY - The hosts raced into an early two-goal lead thanks to neat finishes from Muller and Gotze, only for City to recover and show great character to come back and steal an unlikely win. Silva nicked a goal back before half-time, before Kolarov drew the Citizens level from the spot. Milner, who put in a fine display for the visitors, then sealed the win with a fine finish in the 62nd minute.
Both these sides go through to the knockout stage, with Bayern qualifying in first place in Group D despite City's dogged display at the Allianz Arena tonight.
That's all from me for tonight guys and girls. What a spectacle we were treated to this evening! Good night everyone.
