Neymar's night is over. He has had a great evening at the Gillette Stadium and earns a rapturous ovation as he departs the pitch.
88'
Neymar drills it in low towards the near post for David Luiz, but his effort on goal looks to have been blocked by his own team-mate!
87'
Neymar just terrorised Ruben Amorim on the left, throwing in all the tricks as he tried to get past the Portugal player. Eventually Amorim resorts to bringing him to ground, and Brazil are awarded a free kick wide on the left.
85'
Bruno Alves gets yellow.
Bruno Alves puts in another overzealous challenge, this time on Hernanes. The centre-back is finally awarded a yellow card. He has certainly been very bullish this evening.
84'
Licá enters the game and replaces Vieirinha.
83'
Henrique enters the game and replaces Paulinho.
Brazil, now, are looking to hold this result and get to the end of the game with their advantage intact. There has been very little from them in terms of efforts on goal since they netted their third this evening.
81'
Scolari can be pleased with the performance of his side tonight. They have shown that despite a few injuries they can still mix it with the best. Portugal have undoubtedly missed Cristiano Ronaldo tonight, who could surely have affected this match.
78'
Good clearance from Thiago Silva there! He covers Vieirinha's cross at the near post and heads it behind to stop the lurking Nani from adding a simple finish. Portugal stepping up their pursuit of a goal now.
76'
Alexandre Pato enters the game and replaces Jô.

Description
75'
Hélder Postiga gets yellow.
LOVELY FEET FROM NEYMAR!! He stands up two defenders inside the area and bides his time before threading the ball through them for the arriving Oscar. The Chelsea man fails to connect cleanly with the ball, though, and Rui Patricio is let off the hook.
74'
Meireles does well to poke the ball to Nani who turns to face goal quickly. He rushes to get a shot away and in his haste mishits it, sending his attempt high and wide of the target.
72'
Hernanes is given plenty of space to plump for an effort on goal, 25 yards out. He thumps his low effort into the side netting without worrying Rui Patricio, much to the dismay of the crowd.
71'
Helder Postiga has joined Nelson Oliveira in attack now. Paulo Bento clearly hoping his side can still find a route back into this game with a late run at goal.
70'
Hélder Postiga enters the game and replaces João Pereira.
69'
Good covering from Veloso as he tracks back and gets a tackle in on Paulinho, who latched onto Neymar's pass in behind the defence. The resultant corner is cleared away by a Portuguese shirt.
68'
Hernanes enters the game and replaces Bernard.
Portugal have not really showed a cutting edge in the Brazil half tonight. Nelson Oliveira has been minimally involved, while Nani has been technically poor. Vieirinha has also failed to make a mark on the game, leaving the Seleccao very short up top.
65'
...OVER THE BAR!! Nani is the man who takes the kick in the absence of Ronaldo, but once more he fails to get the ball anywhere near the target. Hugely disappointing.
64'
A clumsy challenge from Maicon gifts Portugal a free kick in a dangerous area here...
63'
Nani tries to dribble his way through the Brazil defence but he runs into a Maicon-shaped wall. He could not quite match Neymar's run in the first half there!
61'
Brazil looking calm and in control of this game. They are dominating possession and Portugal do not look to have any answers for them.
60'
Rúben Amorim enters the game and replaces João Moutinho.
Oscar enters the game and replaces Ramires.
59'
David Luiz concedes a free kick for a tackle from behind on Nelson Oliveira. Nani stands over the dead ball, 35 yards from goal but his effort on goal sails well over the top.
57'
Although Brazil have a brilliant record against Portugal of 12 victories in 19 meetings, they have only been victorious once in the two sides' previous five encounters.
54'
Antunes enters the game and replaces Fábio Coentrão.
Coentrao has limped off with injury. That is not good news for Carlo Ancelotti who has also seen Marcelo pick up a knock during these international fixtures.
53'
The crowd are starting to give out shouts of 'ole' as the Brazilians knock the ball about inside the Portugal half. Paulo Bento's side need to maintain a degree of composure if they are to get back into this one.
51'
Brazil have not been short of goals recently, but Neymar and Alexandre Pato are the only players currently in the squad with an international goals tally in the double-figures. Goals coming from all quarters for the Selecao at the moment.
49'
Jô has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Maxwell.
GOOOOAAAL!! Neymar feeds a lovely pass in behind Pereira for Maxwell, who squares it from the byeline to gift Jo with a simple finish inside the six-yard box. Brazil have a two-goal lead.
48'
Ramires gets yellow.
Coentrao does well to break down the left flank but he is tugged back by Ramires as he looks to rob the move of all momentum. He does just that, as the left-back falls to ground, but he is awarded a yellow card for his tackle.
47'
Nowhere near, Nani! The winger sends a wild effort at goal from distance, which Julio Cesar watches sail high behind the net. That is a real waste.
46'
Luís Neto enters the game and replaces Pepe.
The second half has begun at the Gillette Stadium.
45' +2
The referee's whistle brings an end to the first half.
45' +1
We are into the first of two additional minutes.
45'
Moutinho flights in a corner from the right but he cannot beat the first man. The ball falls for Neymar who looks to break, but his ambitious through-ball for Ramires is not weighted appropriately to pick out his team-mate.
43'
Maicon has been consistently finding space to cross from the right in this first half and he whips in another enticing ball on his most recent foray forward. The target is Jo, but Rui Patricio comes off his line and punches the ball to safety.
41'
Brazil have really been in the ascendancy since getting their first goal. Portugal have been unable to get the ball out of the half for the last 10 minutes. They will be glad to get into the break with just the one goal difference.
39'
OVER THE BAR!! Thiago Silva knocks down the resultant corner to the top of the six-yard box but Paulinho is unable to keep the ball down and on target.
38'
A glorious dummy from Neymar lets the ball flow through to Paulinho 25 yards from goal. He rolls it out wide to David Luiz but his cross into the area is diverted behind by Coentrao, with Bernard waiting in the wings to slide it home.
36'
That could have been the third! Maicon gets in behind Coentrao and takes the ball to the byeline, but his cross is too far behind Jo who is unable to add the finishing touch.
34'
Neymar has scored a goal for Brazil!
Good keeping from Rui Patricio, as he comes off of his line to intercept Neymar's attempted through-ball to Bernard. That would have been special.
GOOOOAAALL!! NOW THAT IS SPECIAL!! A solo goal of unbelievable quality from Neymar. He races at the Portugal defence from left into the centre and skips through them like they don't exist before slotting the ball into the corner. Brazil lead.
32'
JUST WIDE!! Another cross from the right is the source of danger for Brazil as Nani runs across Maicon to connect with Vieirinha's cross. He diverts the ball toward the far post but his attempt shades the outside of the woodwork.
31'
After a bit of treatment Neymar is back up and ready to continue. Bruno Alves was lucky to escape that without any sort of reprimand. A very fiery game so far tonight.
29'
Nelson Oliveira goes down under a powerful challenge in the centre circle but the referee deems it fair and Brazil counter through Neymar. He plays the ball out to Maxwell but receives a late blow to the face from Bruno Alves. A little bit naughty from the centre-back.
27'
Nani has been awfully quiet so far. He is stood up by Maicon but is unable to beat the former Manchester City man, who sticks a toe in and wins a free kick as he is brought down while coming away with the ball.
26'
Ramires is starting to push forward from deep now in an attempt to add some dynamism to this Brazil midfield. Moutinho, Veloso and Meireles are looking very strong in there.
24'
Thiago Silva has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Neymar.
GOOOOOAALL!! Thiago Silva rises highest at the back post to head home from Neymar's corner! We are all square again here.
22'
WHAT A CHANCE!! Bernard drifts in from the right and rolls a pass out to Neymar who is in space on the left of the area. He fires a shot straight at Rui Patricio but the Shakhtar man is first to the rebound. He knocks the ball past the keeper and falls to the ground, but there looked to be no contact at all inside the area.
20'
This will be a good test for the Selecao now, as they look to come back from behind against one of the top sides in world football. Will the lack of creativity in the absence of Oscar be exposed here?
18'
Raul Meireles has scored a goal for Portugal!
GOOOOAAALL!! Portugal take the lead! Meiereles takes a gamble and anticipates Maicon's header back to the keeper following a looping deflection off of Thiago Silva. The Fenerbahce man intercepts the ball and pokes it into the back of the net.
17'
Brazil gain possession in the opposing half after a wayward Portuguese pass. Jo clips a ball over the top, looking for Neymar as he runs in behind. Rui Patricio is wise to it, though, and he races off his line to clear away the danger.
14'
Looks like a miscommunication in the Portugal defence as Pepe sends the ball behind for a corner, despite having Rui Patricio behind him ready to clutch the cross to his chest. Brazil are unable to threaten the keeper from the resultant set play.
12'
OFF THE POST!! Pereira pushes down the right and drills a cross in at the near post, which an unmarked Meiereles meets. He gets plenty of power to his effort but sees it cannon back off the base of the post. What a chance.
11'
Maicon pushes forward down the right for the first time this evening and he pulls a cross back to the top of the box where Paulinho runs onto it. He shoots for goal first-time but is unable to guide his volley into the bottom corner.
10'
Neymar gets yellow.
Things already getting a but heated here as Neymar now earns a yellow card after a shoulder barge with Pepe ends with the centre-back taking out his own goalkeeper. The Real Madrid man shows his displeasure but it is Neymar who is given a warning.
9'
Moutinho gets onto the ball in the midfield and spreads the play out to the right. Vieirinha slips a pass out to Pereira but Luiz Gustavo races across to make a vital block on the cross. Good covering from the Wolfsburg midfielder.
8'
Well that did not take long. Neymar races down the left touch line and Joao Pereira comes across and clatters into him late. The right-back is awarded a yellow card for that challenge.
7'
João Pereira gets yellow.
6'
That could have been lovely. A delightful flick from Vieirinha almost returns a pass to Joao Pereira, but Neymar is back to intercept. It could be an interesting battle developing there, with the Brazil icon up against a Liga defender in Pereira.
5'
David Luiz makes his first burst forward from the back this evening and he draws a foul from Veloso inside the Portugal half. His team-mates fail to make anything from the set play, but the centre-back is looking confident early on.
3'
Bernard already looking lively wide on the right for Brazil. He is forcing Coentrao back and has helped his team keep the pressure up on their opponents early on tonight.
2'
Great interplay between Neymar and Jo sets the Barcelona forward away down the left flank. He stands a deep cross up at the back post but Bruno Alves heads the ball away as Paulinho prepares to volley an effort at goal.

We are under way!
Hello and welcome to tonight's LIVE text commentary on the friendly meeting between two giants of international football, Brazil and Portugal. My name is Tom Webber and I will be your guide through this evening's fixture, which should certainly entertain even with Cristiano Ronaldo out due to injury.
Ronaldo netted a hat-trick to inspire Portugal to victory from 2-1 down against Northern Ireland last Friday, but tendinitis keeps him out of tonight's meeting. Luiz Felipe Scolari has injury worries of his own, with Marcelo joining Dani Alves, Hulk and Fred on the sidelines. Full line-ups on the way.
Brazil (4-3-3): Julio Cesar; Maicon, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell; Luiz Gustavo, Paulinho, Ramires; Bernard, Jo, Neymar.
Portugal (4-3-3): Rui Patrício; Joao Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, Coentrao; Veloso, Joao Moutinho, Raul Meireles; Vieirinha, Nani, Nelson Oliveira.
Scolari had a five-year spell in charge of the Seleccao, from 2003 to 2008. He led Portugal to the final of Euro 2004, which they hosted, but were beaten at the final hurdle by Greece. Having guided Brazil to Confederations Cup glory earlier this year, Felipao may be hopeful of similar success at the World Cup next summer.
Brazil come into this game off the back of a thumping 6-0 victory over Australia. With an injury to Fred there was a worry that the Selecao may be left short up front, but Jo and Alexandre Pato both found the net in that triumph, with the former scoring twice. The result proved the perfect remedy following the 1-0 defeat to Switzerland.
Portugal are undefeated in their last six outings, but have only beaten Brazil four times in their previous 19 meetings. There have been 12 wins for the Canarinho in that time, but the most recent result was a 0-0 draw in 2010.
Pele and Eusebio are being introduced to the players inside the Gillette Stadium. With both sides on the pitch kick off should be upon us shortly.
HALF TIME: Brazil 2-1 Portugal - After Meireles gave the Seleccao the lead, Scolari's men responded brilliantly and stormed ahead thanks to goals from Thiago Silva and the excellent Neymar. More of the same after the break please! Join me in 15 minutes for it.
Welcome back! The second half will be underway shortly as the teams are making their way back out onto the pitch.
Neymar's stunning goal in the first half has seen him already equal the scoring records of both Rivelino and Robinho for the Selecao, with 26 goals to their name each.
FULL TIME: Brazil 3-1 Portugal - The Selecao pick up an impressive victory at the end of an entertaining meeting at the Gillette Stadium. Portugal took the lead through Raul Meiereles but goals from Thiago Silva, Neymar and Jo secured a clear win for the South American giants.
Thanks a lot for joining us tonight. My name is Tom Webber, and it has been an absolute pleasure to walk you through the action. Have a great night.
