S. Duffy enters the game and replaces V. Anichebe.
90' +2
D. Gibson goes off after a red card!
RED CARD! It's 10 men apiece now as it's another high foot and another red card from Anthony Taylor as Darron Gibson lunges in on Mark Noble. While this is another harsh decision isolated, the referee had no choice after giving Carlton Cole his marching orders. Both incidents were very similar.
90' +1
There will be four minutes of added time.
90'
... and Nolan was mighty close to bringing his team back on level terms as he darts into the area but can only send his effort wide with Howard rushing towards him.
89'
B. Oviedo enters the game and replaces S. Pienaar.
But it is all Everton still, with Jelavic going very close with a snapshot from eight yards that Jaaskelainen does very well to parry. But, hold on, West Ham are countering...
88'
J. Collison enters the game and replaces M. Jarvis.
87'
it's worth remembering that, despite their dominance, Everton are just one goal ahead. West Ham are very much still in this.
86'
S. Naismith enters the game and replaces P. Neville.
85'
Anichebe has been a brute for Everton in the second half after a disappointing opening 45 minutes, but he lets down his team-mates while on a promising counterattack by fouling Reid.
Minute
Description
83'
...No. The ball comes in and Osman clears with ease.
82'
Oooh, a chance for West Ham perhaps? They win a corner off Heitinga after the defender deflects Noble's hopefully effort wide...
81'
J. Spence enters the game and replaces J. O'Brien.
80'
Unsurprisingly, West Ham are coping well with Everton's new approach... what with their deep experience with it, I'd imagine.
77'
And now are Everton going to go about extending their lead? They are going to go all West Ham of course as they start to pump high balls into the area in the direction of Jelavic and Anichebe. No fruit have been beared yet, though.
75'
Well, it looks like Cole's sending off was the tipping point in terms of West Ham holding off Everton, and the away side look likely to extend their lead too.
73'
S. Pienaar has scored a goal for Everton!
GOAL!! Everton are in front, and you can't say they don't deserve it. Osman and Baines - the visitors' better players on the day - combine inside the West Ham area to allow the former to skip to the byline and find Pienaar to tap home from two yards.
70'
With all their pressure before the dismissal, surely Everton will be able to capitalise on their one-man advantage now?
67'
C. Cole goes off after a red card!
COLE IS SENT OFF! A second bad decision of the game by referee Antony Taylor as he shows Cole a straight red card after catching Baines with a high foot. It's a very harsh decision, with the striker showing no intent to harm the left-back. A yellow card at worst.
64'
V. Anichebe has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by S. Pienaar.
M. Maïga gets yellow.
GOAL! Everton finally find a way past Jussi Jaaskelainen at the ninth attempt. Steven Pienaar is found on the left by Leighton Baines, rolls the ball under his foot and swings a cross towards Victor Anichebe for the striker to head past the despairing goalkeeper. 1-1!
62'
Baines is on a one-man mission to get something from this game for his side as twice in quick succession the left-back whips dangerous crosses into the West Ham area that his fellow Everton team-mates fail to capitalise on.
59'
CLOSE! Wow. Unbelievably, despite all of Everton's pressure, West Ham should be 2-0 up. Cole intercepts a pass and charges down the right flank and into the area to find the recently introduced second-half substitute Maiga. The ball is played slightly behind the striker, but he still manages to get his shot away, that Tim Howard tips behind.
58'
M. Maïga enters the game and replaces G. O'Neil.
57'
The ball is back with Everton as Jagielka wins a free kick off Cole near the halfway line. The visitors feed it forward through Pienaar before O'Brien clears.
55'
West Ham finally get their foot on the ball and Jarvis darts down the right flank to forge an opening, but Jagielka shephards the ball away from danger.
53'
CLOSE! What a left foot Baines has. He curls a fine effort up and over the West Ham wall and inches past Jaaskelainen's right-hand post. The visitors are really turning the screw now.
52'
Pienaar robs Noble around 25 yards, which the West Ham man does not like and duly fouls him. Baines is stepping over the ball...
50'
And it's Everton as a whole picking up from their first-half display as Heitinga finds Jelavic inside the area, but the striker is flagged offside.
49'
Baines starts the second half where he finished the first, with a strong dart down the left, but his centered ball fails to find Anichebe.
47'
And Everton should have equalised almost immediately as Jelavic is found less than 10 yards out but hits his shot straight at Jaaskelainen! Poor miss.
46'
And we are back underway, where it's West Ham 1-0 Everton.
45' +1
And that's it. The referee calls an end to the first half.
45'
Into stoppage time now, of which there will be one minute.
43'
Baines has been everwhere today and he now pop up on the right flank to try and feed Anichebe into the area, only for Collins to hold off the big-framed striker and let the ball roll out for a goal kick. No idea how he managed that. Super strength.
42'
Baines sends the corner in, but Collins clears.
41'
Ooof, that was nearly one! Gibson wins a free kick some 30 yards out from goal, takes the reins himself and forces Jaaskelainen in to tip over. Cracking effort.
40'
Five minutes until the break, can Everton find the richly deserved eight goals they should have already had in this half?
38'
Urgh. That was a waste. Noble sends in the ball but Howards simply punches clear.
37'
In what feels like an age, West Ham finally get their foot back on the ball after Jagielka concedes a corner...
35'
Another chance for, you've guessed it, Everton and Jelavic - who has started asserting himself in the game as a relatively quiet onyl 20 minutes or so - fails to test Jaaskelainen from the edge of the area after smart work from Osman.
33'
Two more chances in quick succession for the visitors as again Osman has a dig from 25 yards, before Pienaar looks to have set Anichebe through on goal, only for the striker to also be deemed offside.
31'
Another free kick for Everton, which Gibson finds Jelavic with inside the area. After initially losing the ball, the striker manages to dispossess Collins and sneak a shot in from the area... only to be flagged offside.
29'
Half a chance for West Ham as Jarvis' smart cross from the right evades all three of Everton's defenders inside the area, but also Cole. Noble gallops after the ball with the hope of re-igniting the danger, only to see it run out for a throw in.
27'
Next up to try his luck from distance is Osman, but the shot from 25 yards skids harmlessly wide of Jaaskelainen's post.
26'
Everton are boasting 60 per cent of possession here, but West Ham's defence are coping remarkably well in the face of almost-continual pressure.
24'
Back up the other end and Everton win a corner after O'Neill loses a tussle with Distin - as he will do every time, I'd imagine. Baines whips the ball in but Collins is able to head the danger clear.
22'
Ooof, that was a great effort! Pienaar finds space around 25 yards out and lets fly with a fierce shot that stings the palms of Jaaskelainen, before the goalkeeper collects at the second attempt.
20'
Noble sends in the free kick, but Baines is still ahead of him in those stakes as it harmlessly flies into Howard's arms.
19'
Ah, this is more like it. Pienaar's effort from 25 yards is blocked well by be Reid before he starts a counterattack. The hosts storm up field before Jarvis is felled for a free kick around 25 yards from goal.
18'
Well, after a blistering opening 15 minutes, we haven't had a shot at goal in over 120 seconds. Odd.
16'
Everton seem stunned, and rightly so, but West Ham are riding on the crest of a wave now.
14'
C. Cole has scored a goal for West Ham United! Assist by M. Taylor.
GOAL!! And West Ham go ahead with their first attack of the game! A smart, threaded ball finds Carlton Cole on the edge of the area to allow the striker to take one touch away from Heitinga before hammering the ball past Howard from 18 yards. Great finish, but possible question marks over the goalkeeper's positioning.
11'
DISALLOWED GOAL! Ok, now Everton really should be ahead. It's another superb set-piece delivery from Baines that is met by Osman's head to crash past Jaaskelainen. The one-time England international runs off celebrating before the referee pulls the play back for an apparent elbow. I can't see anything wrong with the goal at all.
9'
CLOSE! And Everton should be ahead! A typically great delivery from Baines is met by Distin running through the West Ham defence, but his header is hammered too hard into the groun and it flies up over the bar.
8'
Oooh, possible chance for Everton as Pienaar wins a free kick some 25 yards from goal wide on the left after being felled by Tomkins...
6'
West Ham appear to have woken up, finally, as a Jarvis free kick is played to Nolan on the edge of the Everton area. However, a clumsy swivel later and the midfielder is dispossessed.
4'
More vaguely threatening Everton pressure as Jelavic wins a thrown in just inside the West Ham half. The visitors hold possession but an attempt to find Anichebe up front is, again, wayward so Collins cleans up.
2'
Everton have started strongly here, with Pienaar attempting the pull the strings straight from the off. First, a one-two with Baines is overhit before a similar move with Anichebe has the same result. Bit rusty, perhaps.
1'
And we are underway!
Let's get that team news out, eh?
Good afternoon and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between West Ham and Everton. My name is Alex Young and I will be taking you through the game's events.
So, West Ham make one change from the 0-0 draw against West Brom as James Tomkins replaces Guy Demel in defence. Jack Collison, as expected, is on the bench for, potentially, his first appearance of the season after recovering from injury.
Talisman Marouane Fellaini is suspended for Everton following his head-butt on Ryan Shawcross as David Moyes makes three changes. Captain Phil Neville and fellow defender Johnny Heitinga joins Victor Anichebe in the starting line-up.
West Ham can climb as high as eighth with a win today, with Everton looking to reclaim their place in the top four - not to mention some invaluable momentum for the busy festive schedule.
Eight minutes until kick-off at Upton Park. Get over predictions over to our official Twitter account @GoalUK.
Here is James McManus from Upton Park: "As Firestarter by the Prodigy blares out over the tannoy system, we've already had Tommy Walsh of Ground Force fame interviewed on the pitch and a short word with YouTube sensation '£1 Fish Man' who, in the theme of Christmas spirit, has promised to sing at half-time. Bizarre doesn't even cover it. Anyway, the bubbles are out on the pitch and now so are the players."
David Moyes must be suffering a mixture of confusion and anger as the half-time whistle is blown at Upton Park. We have all the signs of a smash-and-grab job from West Ham here, with the visitors having a goal disallowed for a hard-to-see foul before Carlton Cole went up the other end with his side’s first attack to break the deadlock. Since then, Everton have forced Jussi Jaaskelainen into five smart saves, with the impressive Hammers defence soaking up most of the pressure in a solid display. You can’t see West Ham surviving without conceding for much longer though.
Right then, we should be back underway in a matter of minutes. Predictions, anyone?
So Everton grab a deserved win, but had to wait until Carlton Cole's harsh red card before breaking down the resolute West Ham defence. David Moyes' side climb in fourth following Tottenham's 0-0 draw with Stoke City.
I have a feeling Anthony Taylor will not have garnered many new friends from either side after that performance, with Osman having a goal wrongly disallowed before the too harsh dismissals.
