Is that Lille's last chance gone? Rodelin manages to square a ball across the box and after it is only half-cleared, Basa's overhead kick is off target.
Full-time: Lille 0-1 Valencia
89'
Lille are still pushing for that elusive goal and Roux almost provides it as his near post header is acrobatically turned round the post by Guaita, who has been Valencia's best player this evening. Three minutes of stoppage time.
86'
Lille are getting closer and closer and substitute Payet almost produced the goal that their endeavour has deserved. His curling effort from 20 yards leaves Guaita stranded but the ball dips onto the crossbar and out for a goal kick. Valencia remain in front but can they hang on?
84'
Big chance for Lille as Kalou does brilliantly to control a chipped pass into the box but Guaita sticks out a big hand to stop the former Chelsea player's goalbound shot.
83'
Jonathan Viera enters the game and replaces Víctor Ruiz.
The Spanish side make their final substitution as Victor Ruiz is replaced by Jonathan Vieira.
82'
Guaita gets yellow.
Two quickfire bookings for Valencia as Tino Costa receives a yellow card for a foul before Guaita has his name taken for time wasting.
81'
T. Costa gets yellow.
Valencia are still allowing their hosts to have much of the ball as they have realised that they won't be finishing top of the group, though Valverde will be hoping his new side can hang on for a morale boosting win.
77'
N. Roux enters the game and replaces G. Bruno.
Kalou breaks through for the home side but he is stopped by a brave Guaita, who receives an injury for his troubles. Lille have made their final change with top scorer Nolan Roux replacing Bruno.
74'
F. Gago enters the game and replaces Albelda.
Elana in the Lille goal has been a spectator for the whole of the second period, and he remained rooted to the spot as Jonas curls a good effort just wide of the post in a rare Valencia attack. The visitors have also made their second change, bringing on Fernando Gago for skipper Albelda.
72'
Bruno and Rodelin have caused the biggest threat to the Valencia defence since the break, and the pair combined again as the latter's cross is met by the former, but his header falls harmlessly wide of the post.

Description
70'
D. Payet enters the game and replaces F. Balmont.
Lille make their second change of the night as Balmont is replaced in midfield by Dimitri Payet. An attacking change as Rudi Garcia looks for an equaliser that would be deserved for their second half performance.
66'
Rodelin is the next to try his luck for the hosts but his shot is sliced horribly wide after cutting in onto his right foot from around 30 yards. Bayern now lead 3-0 and Valencia need a miracle to top the group now.
64'
Bayern lead BATE 2-0 at the Allianz Arena and it seems Valencia are settling for second place in the group. They are showing no urgency to get forward and Lille still look more likely to score the next goal.
61'
P. Piatti enters the game and replaces S. Féghouli.
Martin's first involvement is to fire over a volley from 20 yards after Ricardo Costa's poor defensive header. The visitors make their first change in a quest to switch the momentum as Feghouli is replaced by Pablo Piatti.
59'
Lille are again close to levelling as Bruno picks up the ball on the edge of the area but he scuffs his shot well wide of the post with the outside of his foot. Valencia under the cosh.
57'
Valencia have not begun the second half at all well and should be pegged back as Rodelin wriggles free at the back post from a corner and he fires in a powerful effort that Nelson Valdez clears off the line before Guaita smothers the follow up from Bruno.
55'
M. Martin enters the game and replaces R. Mavuba.
F. Balmont gets yellow.
Balmont becomes the third Lille player to be booked after a trip on the touchline with the ball heading out of play. Rudi Garcia has also made his first change as captain Mavuba comes off for Marvin Martin.
54'
Lille's teenage left-back Lucas Digne has been impressive tonight and he puts in a dangerous cross from the left but Guaita dives on the ball and smothers the opportunity.
53'
Lille's Franck Beria is booked for a foul in the middle of the pitch, and even better news for Valencia is that Bayern Munich are down to ten men against BATE.
52'
F. Béria gets yellow.
51'
Valencia are allowing their hosts to have most of the possession due to the fact that they cannot penetrate the visitors' defence. The Spaniards look comfortable at the back.
48'
Lille have started the second period well though they are still to really test Guaita in the Valencia goal.
46'
THE SECOND HALF IS UNDERWAY!
45'
Half-time: Lille 0-1 Valencia
44'
The home side have an opportunity to create a chance to equaliser just before half-time, but Balmont's corner is easily cleared at the near post, with his second cross also failing to beat the first man.
40'
Lille seem to have lost some belief after the breaking of the deadlock, and Feghouli again has an opportunity, though his overhead kick from the edge of the box is miscued horribly.
38'
That goal has swung the momentum in this one and Feghouli tries his luck from around 25 yards, though his weak effort is easily held by Elana.
36'
Penalty goal scored by Jonas for Valencia!
GOAL FOR VALENCIA!!! Jonas steps up and converts the spot kick that he won as he puts the ball into the bottom right corner of Elana's goal, though the stopper did go the right way.
35'
R. Mavuba gets yellow.
34'
PENALTY TO VALENCIA! Against the run of play, Jonas picks up the ball on the edge of the area, turns Basa and is brought down by the defender. Mavuba is booked for his remonstrations at the decision.
33'
Valencia are having to soak up a lot of pressure from the home side and Guaita is again called into action to catch Florent Balmont's dipping effort from distance.
31'
The home side continue to attack and they win a free kick in a promising position, but Kalou can only curl his effort harmlessly over the crossbar.
29'
Despite having nothing to play for Lille are certainly not going to just roll over this evening, and they test Guaita again as Rio Mavuba breaks from midfield before firing a low effort straight at the goalkeeper.
26'
After a slow start, this match is starting to come to life, and Rodelin has his first chance for the home side as he robs Ricardo Costa on the edge of the area before curling a shot straight at Guaita. A let-off for the Valencia full-back.
25'
Valencia may have heard that Bayern are leading BATE in Munich and are starting to show some more urgency in attack. Jonas cuts inside from the left and hits a shot from 25 yards that is easy for Elana to collect.
23'
Lille create their first chance of the evening as Lucas Digne's cross from the right finds Marko Basa in the centre, but the defender can only direct his header over the bar.
20'
Valencia are without Roberto Soldado tonight, and they could have done with it as Haedo Valdez picks up the ball in the box, only for his poor control to allow Chedjou to clear for a throw.
17'
Rami is quickly involved at the other end of the pitch as he meets Tino Costa's free kick from the left, but his looping header is easy for Elana in the Lille goal.
15'
Adil Rami, who is playing against his former side for the first time since joining Valencia, almost hands Salomon Kalou a chance to go clean through on goal, but the Ivory Coast international cannot gain control of the bouncing ball and the opportunity has passed.
12'
Ricardo Costa and Feghouli are trying to get things going down the right hand side for the visitors but the former cannot latch onto a long ball and the pass rolls out for a goal kick.
9'
Valencia look the more likely to open the scoring at the moment though no clear cut chances to speak of
6'
Despite having nothing to play for, the Lille fans are certainly trying to enjoy their last European action of the season, though the noise they are creating isn't quite getting their players going as they would have liked.
4'
Feghouli has been Valencia's best player in the opening minutes, though some fancy footwork deep in the Lille half comes to nothing and Albelda concedes a free-kick to bring to an end that attack.
2'
The home side have started the better and forced the first corner of the match, though Valencia's defence held firm and almost set up a counter attack for Sofiane Feghouli.

THE MATCH IS UNDERWAY!!!
Good evening and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Champions League Group F encounter between Lille and Valencia.
I'm Tom Maston and I will be bringing you all the action from the Grand Stade Lille Metropole. The hosts are already out of Europe but the Spanish visitors, who are playing under new manager Ernesto Valverde for the first time, can still finish top of the group if they better Bayern Munich's result against BATE Borisov in Germany.
The qualifiers from Group F, like many of the Champions League groups this week, have already been decided, though if Bayern lose at home then Valencia could steal top spot in the group and avoid the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.
The sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino has been met with some surprise in Spain despite the Mestalla outfit sitting only 12th in La Liga, and former Olympiakos coach Valverde has a big job on his hands to resurrect their league form. First, though, he will try to finish their Champions League group stage campaign on a high
The teams are out but I just have time to let you know that Valencia are unbeaten in 16 matches against French sides; a record which stretches back to 1980!
Jonas' penalty separates the team and with neither side offering much else in attack it could end that way. The visitors looked the more likely to add to their lead after breaking the deadlock, and if they can stay ahead then they could be looking for BATE to do them a favour in Munich and grab an equaliser. We'll be back in 15 minutes for the second period.
The players are back on the field in Lille and we are moments from getting back underway. No changes to either side.
So Valencia finish second in Group F despite holding on for all three points in France. Lille deserved more from the match for their second half dominance but some poor finishing mixed win with some great saves by Guaita saw them hang on. That performance won't have pleased new coach Valverde, but a win is a win at the end of the day.
Lille finish bottom of the group with just three points though they deserved much more from an improved performance despite playing a weakened team.
So that's it- the Champions League group stages are over for another season, as is this LIVE commentary. I've been Tom Maston.
