Good afternoon, and welcome to Goal.com’s LIVE! text commentary from this Premier League clash between Stoke City and Fulham. My name is Theo Squires, and I will be guiding you through the action from the Britannia Stadium today.
Just over 20 minutes til kick-off and here is the team news for you.
Starting with Stoke City. Their Starting XI vs Fulham is as follows: Begovic; Shotton, Shawcross (c), Huth, Cameron; Walters, Whelan, Nzonzi, Adam, Etherington; Crouch
and on the bench for the Potters: Sorensen, Palacios, Jones, Whitehead, Upson, Kightly, Jerome
Meanwhile Fulham's starting XI is: Schwarzer, Riether, Senderos, Hughes, Riise, Dejagah, Karagounis, Baird, Sidwell, Petric, Berbatov (c)
Tony Pulis makes one change to the side that drew with West Ham on Monday night, as Ryan Shotton comes in for the injured Andy Wilkinson.
Meanwhile Dimitar Berbatov captains Fulham in the absence of the suspended Brede Hangeland. Martin Jol makes four changes to the side that lost at home to Sunderland, with Senderos, Dejagah, Baird and Petric coming in for Hangeland, Duff and the injured duo of Kacaniklic and Ruiz.
Mahamadou Diarra returns from injury and is named on the bench for Fulham, along with Neil Ethridge, who was recalled from his loan spell at Bristol Rovers earlier this week. There is also a place on the Cottagers bench for youngster Charles Banya. Banya has been at the club since he was 12 and would make his Premier League debut if he comes on.
Stoke have not lost a game at home in the league since February. Meanwhile Fulham are unbeaten in their last four away games.
Victory for Tony Pulis' side will see the Potters move level on points with Fulham.
The teams are out and kick-off is just five minutes away.
So Charlie Adam's strike means Stoke have the lead at the interval.
The Potters have been the better side and could have scored more, with Shawcross and Huth both missing good chances from Etherington corners.
Berbatov has been drifting in and out of the game for Fulham, while Petric's half chance and a Kargounis shot from distance remain their only threats to Asmir Begovic's goal so far.
Will it be more of the same in the second half or will Martin Jol's Fulham find a way to fight back? Join me after the interval to find out.
Stoke hold on to extend their unbeaten run at home. Tony Pulis will be delighted that his side managed to win today. Charlie Adam's goal wrapped up the points for Stoke and they deserve it. So easily could have been more but for missed chances from Huth and Shawcross.
Fulham now have not won any of their last five games as their unbeaten run away from home comes to an end. Berbatov looks a very frustrated figure. The Bulgarian kept coming deeper and deeper to get the ball today but just could not impact on the game enough.
Special mention must go to Peter Crouch who was superb for Stoke in attack today. It was his knock-down that set up Charlie Adam for the goal, and that was just one of numerous balls into the box the England international got his head to. He might not have scored but a great team peformance. Are you watching Roy Hodgson?
Stoke leapfrog Liverpool into 11th place, although the Reds have a game in hand. Fulham remain 9th, but with Swansea playing Liverpool tomorrow, and with Newcastle also having a game in hand, that might not be the case tomorrow.
An easy win for Stoke in the end. I've been Theo Squires, thank you for joining me. We hope to see you tuning into Goal.com tomorrow for another afternoon of Premier League, Scottish and European football and all the reaction from the game. See you next time.
