Five minutes of added time! Oh, how cruel you are the fourth official! Steve Clarke doesn't take very kindly to the decision, either.
CHANCE! West Brom are finishing stronger in this game and Peter Odemwingie is inches wide with a curling, right footed effort.
89'
The Baggies fans singing is drowning the stadium as Wigan stare at defeat as we head into injury time.
88'
What do you make of it, Simon Sinclair?: "Wigan are trying to up the ante to get back in the game but have been really poor in the final third in the second half if anything West Brom look likely to score a third on the counter attack."
86'
M. Rosenberg enters the game and replaces R. Lukaku.
M. Boselli enters the game and replaces F. Di Santo.
85'
Jordi Gómez enters the game and replaces B. Watson.
No, they can't. The game is now incredibly tepid and unless we have a final five minutes like we did in the first half, I can't see this game winning any awards.
84'
Corner for the Latics but it should really be a goal kick. The ball went out of the head of Beausejour. Can Wigan capitalize on the good fortune?
81'
CHANCE! That was the moment for Franco Di Santo but his header crashes into the ground from a few yards out and bounces onto the top of the net. Wigan will not get many more chances like that as we cross the 80-minute mark.
80'
Ten minutes to go and the DW is descending into darkness. Time for Wigan to take some risks!
78'
J. McCarthy gets yellow.
STAT ATTACK: Wigan have had seven shots on goal, West Brom have had ten.
Minute
Description
77'
B. Jones gets yellow.
Can somebody at the DW please remind the teams that this isn't a friendly? Wigan need a goal soon or they can kiss goodbye to any points this afternoon.
74'
What did you make of that, Simon Sinclair?: "Oh dear, what a miss by Shaun Maloney, as he picks the ball up inside the penalty area and from 10-yards out somehow misses the target. Wigan aren't going to get level with efforts like that. Awful!"
73'
CHANCE! Maloney, with more acres of space around him than Winnie the Pooh, belts his effort over the bar from tinside the box. That's more like it from the hosts.
71'
Lukaku livens up proceedings by getting a yellow card for kicking the ball away. Yes, that is what this game has become.
70'
R. Lukaku gets yellow.
69'
P. Odemwingie enters the game and replaces S. Long.
I, like the Latics fans, want a bit more urgency from Wigan. There's no point in waiting for the right time to score if the clock is ticking chaps...
68'
Z. Gera enters the game and replaces J. Morrison.
66'
The smattering of home fans in the DW are roaring their team forward but it isn't working at the moment. The Baggies look very comfortable but they need another to kill the game.
65'
R. Stam enters the game and replaces G. Caldwell.
Martinez makes his first change as Ronnie Stam replaces Caldwell. Not the most attacking tactical subsitution for a team who are behind is it?
63'
The match is, frustratingly, at jogging pace at the moment as Wigan are being pragmatic in their approach.
60'
The Baggies are looking to extent the lead much to the home fans' frustration.
57'
That left footer from the youngster was a stinger! The Baggies are unable to create anything from the following corner and the Latics can break again.
56'
CHANCE! Lukaku strikes inside the box and Al-Habsi gets a strong hand to it to palm the ball over for a corner. Gresat stuff from Lukaku, whose strike partner Long was ingenius in the build up.
53'
The hosts are digging in for an equaliser here but West Brom are looking strong at the back.
52'
CHANCE! Wigan go close again this time it's Gary Caldwell who gets up highest from James McCarthy's corner but his header goes just wide of the post. Good stuff from Latics in the second half.
50'
CHANCE! Wigan go close as James McCarthy shoots from the edge of the area which forces Boaz Myhill into a save, the former Hull man only pushes the ball as far as Jean Beausejour who fires over the bar.
48'
C. Yacob gets yellow.
That was a bit petty from Yacob, it wasn't a nasty tackle but dissent that gets him in trouble so the referee sees fit to book him anyway.
47'
More of the same please chaps!
46'
We are back underway at the DW.
45'
So Jones is denied his first goal for the Baggies as the effort goes down as an own goal and Wigan smell blood at the end of the half. Great end to the first 45 minutes this!
The half-time whistle blows to a groan from this writer. The game was getting very interesting. Here's hoping for more after the break.
44'
A. Koné has scored a goal for Wigan Athletic! Assist by J. Beausejour.
GOAL! Woo hoo! Great reply from the hosts as Kone slots the ball in from close range following a low cross on the left from Beausejour. I smell a comeback!
43'
G. Caldwell is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL! Jones links brilliantly with Lukaku and races towards goal, slotting the ball in the back of the net with a slight deflection from Caldwell. West Brom are ruling this game now.
42'
Boaz Myhill must be thinking, "Can I play you every week?" He has had very little to do in the opening half.
40'
Wigan are struggling to pierce the visitors defence still. Another goal before half-time from the Baggies? They are looking very settled now.
38'
Simon Sinclair at the DW: "West Brom are so close to adding a second as Billy Jones shoots from distance but the ball goes just the wrong side of the post. Not sure if Ali Al-Habsi would have got to that if the effort was on target. The Baggies are well and truly on top at the moment."
37'
STAT ATTACK: Opta Joe: ' 0 - Wigan are the only Premier League side yet to claim a point having conceded the first goal this term.'
34'
Wigan are looking to reply straight away but again there are no clear cut chances to speak of. Di Santo's movement is magestic but no one can find the killer pass.
32'
Brunt had all the time in the world to swing that cross in. Wigan fans aren't happy about the marking after they have marginally been the better of the two teams in this first half.
31'
J. Morrison has scored a goal for West Bromwich Albion! Assist by C. Brunt.
GOAL! James Morrison rises to the ocassion and meets Chris Brunt's beauty of a cross from the left to power the ball into the net. The visitors break the deadlock and thank god for that! The game was getting scrappy and this could wake it up.
29'
Free kick to the hosts about 30 yards out on the left. A chance to swing it in the centre but instead they take the kick too quickly and the Baggies bring it away into the other half.
27'
This game is getting scrappy all the time. The Baggies need to get Lukaku on the ball more to make more of a statement.
24'
Al-Habsi uses his feet again to thwart Lukaku on the edge of his area. Wigan playing a secret sweeper system perhaps? That's the second time he has done that this half!
23'
The hosts still look the more lively here but a clear cut chance hasn't arrived since Kone's header. I'm pleading for one to arrive very soon!
20'
Olsson's had his vitamins today as he decides to go all Van Damme on Al-Habsi in the air. Nothing given but the West Brom man just needs to cool his head a little I think.
18'
Al-Habsi's fitness is put to the test as he hares out of the traps to put the ball in row Z as Lukaku nears down on goal.
17'
What does Simon Sinclair make of proceedings so far? " Franco Di Santo has shown some great tekkers as beats two defenders in the air and clips the ball with the outside of his heel over the head to Arouna Kone. That's the sort of skill that gets you in the Argentina squad."
15'
A bit of the old argy-bargy in the box with Olsson the main culprit. Not quite handbags but still funny to watch!
14'
Caldwell concedes a corner under pressure from Long as West Brom get the first set piece of the game.
13'
CHANCE! Kone looks surprised as a deep cross finds him in the six-yard box, but all he can do is see his chance float over the bar.
11'
Ridgewell is clipped by a niggling challenge by Boyce as the Baggies are still trying to find their rhythm in the game.
8'
CHANCE! Myhill gets down low to deny Watson, Roberto Martinez's men are knocking on the West Brom door here.
7'
McCarthy manages to fire in a shot from an acute angle but the ball flies wide, encouraging start for the home crowd to cheer over (despite a lack of fans in the stands again.)
5'
The home side are knocking around nicely here as Figueroa wallops it over the bar from distance. Good early stuff from the Latics.
2'
It is the home side who have the first whiff of goalmouth action but the ball is cleared to safety as both teams look to make a positive start here.
1'
West Brom get us underway in their red away kits.
Good afternoon football fans and welcome to the play-by-play commentary of Wigan against West Brom. My name is Hayden Gribble and I will take you through all the action as it happens as the Baggies travel to the DW Stadium in a bid to keep their place in the top five.
Before all of that though, let’s have a look at the teams...
Wigan: Al Habsi; Boyce, Caldwell, Ramis, Figueroa, Beausejour; Watson, McCarthy, Maloney; Di Santo, Kone. Subs: Pollitt, Jones, Gomez, McManaman, Boselli, Fyvie, Stam.
West Brom: Myhill; Jones, Olsson, McAuley, Ridgwell; Morrison, Yacob, Mulumbu, Brunt; Lukaku, Long. Subs: Daniels, Popov, Rosenberg, Dorrans, Gera, Odemwingie, Tamas.
STAT ATTACK: West Brom have a less than thrilling record against their hosts today, coming away with two draws and two defeats in their last four matches.
The teams are out of the tunnel and raring to go...
What kind of afternoon will Boaz Myhill be expecting having come in for the injured Ben Foster? He'll find out soon!
A wreath is laid on the centre circle and there is a minute's silence for those who have fallen in battle, the DW falls silent.
Phew...while I catch my breath, how about a stat to keep you entertained?
STAT ATTACK: West Brom have kept clean sheets in only two of their 14 league encounters against the Latics.
What did my colleague Simon Sinclair make of all that? "LIVE! Half-time at the DW Stadium and it's been an exciting first half of football which has seen three good goals scored but it's West Brom who've edged it so far. The Baggies have played some wonderful football and fully deserve their lead although Steve Clarke will be disappointed to concede just seconds after doubling their advantage. Roberto Martinez won't be too disappointed with his side as they haven't played badly but some of their defending at times has been questionable and that will need to improve if they want to get back into the game."
Here’s our very own Simon Sinclair reporting from the DW: "Roberto Martinez has named an unchanged side to the team that beat Tottenham 1-0 last week at White Hart Lane. Meanwhile, West Brom have made as Boaz Myhill, Romelu Lukaku, James Morrison and Chris Brunt all come into the side. Baggies keeper Ben Foster is out with an injury allowing Myhill to make his first league start of the season. While Lukaku replaces two-goal hero Peter Odemwingie from Steve Clarke's side win over Southampton on Monday as the Nigerian drops to the bench."
At full-time, what did our man at the DW Simon Sinclair make of that? "Jeers ring around the DW Stadium as the full time whistle is blown at the DW Stadium as West Brom have closed the win thanks to first half goals from james Morrison and Billy Jones, while Arouna Kone could only get a consolation for Wigan. The Baggies fully deserve their win as they were on top for the majoirty of the game and played some lovely football at times. Wigan tried their best to get an equaliser but were really poor in the final third espeically in the last 10 minutes as they just couldn't create anything. Steve Clarke's side look good value for their place in the top five this season."
That's all folks from the DW. Steve Clarke celebrates his first away win as a Premier League manager and the West Brom bandwagon continues to gain momentum as Roberto Martinez must pick his side up from this and improve their attacking credentials.
And with that, I bid you farewell. See you again soon and I hope you all have a great weekend. Well done West Brom and hard luck Wigan!
